all in one character property, perched up on side of the fells, looking
down over village and lake. This is Fairsnape. A five-bedroomed C17th
cottage, surrounded by 3 acres of terraced, wooded and enclosed grounds,
magnificently situated high above Coniston.

Your first glimpses
of the pink cottage are through the fir trees and shrubs as you climb
the narrow private drive. There's plenty of parking space. An extensive
slate terrace runs along the front of the cottage, catching the sun and
providing glorious lake vistas. Entering this grand house brings you
through a parquetted hallway and on into a large hall complete with
tiled floor and beamed ceiling, perfect for storing outdoor gear. Left
leads into a massive kitchen, dominated by a huge wooden table for ten -
what a great venue for family and friends get-togethers! Old slate

Through the kitchen leads to a couple of bedrooms (double and twin),
which could be used as a separate annex. The double has many windows and
so is light and bright and of course, it has the views. Back through
the hall is the main living room with a slate open fire, three double
leather sofas, beams and wooden floor. And adjacent is a suntrap of a
conservatory and everywhere has the views. Upstairs' landing has low
beams, uneven floors but bags of character. All three bedrooms have
stunning views. Mind if you get the top bunk though, it's quite close to
the low ceiling.
