Close to all the village amenities stands a Victorian terrace, of tall
and thin properties called Dixon Ground. Right on the footpath to the
Old Man of Coniston and Levers Water, and on the foothills of the crags
behind, these cottages are well situated for walkers keen to get
straight onto the fells.

Number 1 is the end of terrace
property. Coming in the backdoor takes you into the kitchen. A modern
well equipped kitchen with slate worktops and island workstation is on
hand for all your cooking needs; there's even an old spinning wheel in
the window. The adjacent dining area has the flexibility to seat up to
12 and retains some of its original features - an old wooden floor and
unusual built-in wooden drawers. The living room has a large and light
bay window with an equally large leather sofa in it. A great spot of
diving into your holiday read. There's plenty of other seating,
positioned strategically

Number 1 is best suited to home large groups - of friends, extended
families, walkers or just big get-togethers!

Great location but property is very dated and needs updating. Absolutely nothing in kitchen! Take your own matches to light the fire and all bits, i.e. cooking oil, salt and pepper! Oven is very poor, leave yourself at least double the time to cook anything! As I said, great location in a great village right next to a pub too.

Great location but house is a bit tired for the money paid. Could do with sprucing up. Oven is very poor, took ages to cook anything. No downstairs toilet which was inconvenient for my mother (aged 76). Nothing at all was left in the house. Not even a teabag or matches so make sure you take everything you need! Good point is the showers are great!
