“Charming cottage”

Reviewed 8 Oct 2017

Everything about this cottage is classy. From the welcome, surroundings, decor & cleanliness. Would definitely recommend. There is even a great pub within walking distance.

“luxury is the key word”

lovely cottage to stay in over xmas, area looked spectacular with the sun shining through the trees and over the lake. Classy cottage and furniture to match. I was visiting family in the area so didnt get in the country too much. I know the area well so I know that this part of south cheshire and north staffordshire has lots to offer.

“Everything you need”

A most welcoming and comfortable stay in this pretty property, with peace and tranquillity only disturbed by the occasional quacking of the ducks on the pond! We have never stayed anywhere with this amount of kitchen supplies, which saved a lot of dashing out for essentials. Locationwise, very well placed for access to countryside and attractions and many superb pub/restaurants within a few miles. Could happily have stayed another week!

“Luxurious, beautiful cottage set in a wonderful location!”

Reviewed 18 Jan 2015

Dane cottage is a little gem! Luxurious cottage, beautifully furnished and set in a wonderful location. The private garden and fishing pool just add to the charm of the cottage :) We also appreciated the little touches such as the milk provided, the bathroom toiletries, the lovely kitchen ware and the warm welcome we received. It was like a home from home! We will absolutely be returning in the future :) Thank-you so much! :)

“Perfect stay for visiting Cheshire, Manchester, Peak District.”

Reviewed 7 Dec 2014

This is the perfect property for a couple to stay in. It is very high quality, provided by lovely people and is within easy reach of lots of places to visit. There is a local railway station with trains into Manchester, I can't think why anyone would pay city prices and have the madness of the crowds when you could return to the calm and quite of this great accommodation.

“Perfect stay - Didn't want to leave!”

My partner & I stayed at Dane Cottage for 2 nights in Aug. Nothing that we can say can do this place justice!! The cottage is amazing, the gardens are spectacular... and private!! And the hosts (including Bailey the dog) provide the most fantastic welcome & service. We are already planning our next visit!!!

“A Most Enjoyable Break”

Reviewed 28 Jul 2014

We enjoyed our stay at Dane Cottage very much. We were made to feel very welcome. Bailey the dog was always pleased to see us on our return from a day’s sightseeing. I tried fishing in the lovely lake, but didn't catch too much due to being distracted by the wildlife including kingfishers. The only downside was having to go home after such a fantastic break.

“Wonderful home-away-from-home”

Reviewed 18 Jun 2014

We stayed at Dane Cottage for 9 nights, as we have family in Congleton, but didn't want to spend all our time in hotels and in spare bedrooms. Hilary and Andrew have done a wonderful job with Dane Cottage. It's beautifully appointed, scrupulously clean and very comfortable. The surroundings are outstanding, especially if you're a walker or fisherman. Many rental cottages serve as a place where all the things the owners don't want, but don't want to throw away, end up. That isn't the case here. The kitchen is well appointed with a proper oven and gas hob, sharp knives, and there isn't a warped pot or pan in sight. There's also a dishwasher and washing machine, complete with a couple of tabs for each. The shower was powerful, with plenty of hot water, and little bottles of shower gel, shampoo and body lotion, which was great, since we didn't bring any. The bed and living area is very comfy, and there's free wi-fi. I worked whilst we were there, and the signal was more than enough to conduct VOIP calls. Mobile phone signal was a little less reliable, but connecting to wi-fi and using a messenger service instead of texting or calling was fine. All in all, it was a wonderful home-form-home, complete with a lovely doggy called Bailey., who was happy to be petted, but equally happy to ignore you! I highly recommend
