Description

Ryton Grange is a newly and lovingly refurbished grade 2 listed tudor and victorian farmhouse thought to be initially built in 1594 and extended in 1744 in the georgian times. It has exposed beams throughout and also wobbly original floors and staircases. There is also traditional panelling in the living room and wattle and daub within the walls.

It is situated in the middle of a tiny unspoilt sleepy village called Ryton, which is midway between Shrewsbury and Church Stretton. Near also to Ludlow and Oswestry.

The property is set back from the road and has a private gated yard in which to park vehicles.

Inside, the property tastefully combines traditional style with modern comfortable living. There are exposed beams throughout and plenty of antique and vintage furniture to give a feeling of stepping back in time.

There is a fitted oak kitchen with granite worktops and a flagstone style floor. There is a very large refectory style table area for dining, a rangemaster electric double oven cooker, dishwasher, american style fridge freezer.

From the kitchen 2 doors open out onto the patio and BBQ at the rear. The kitchen has underfloor heating. There is portmeirion crockery

There are 2 sitting room areas, one central area with 3 large leather sofas, a large wood burner, coffee table and an ottoman containing toys.The other with leather sofa, armchair,2 footstools, a smart tv and a bookcase full of books and games. There are 4 bluetooth speakers in the property.

There is a downstairs toilet with utility containing washing machine and tumble dryer.

There are 6 bedrooms,

one bedroom (downstairs bedroom 1) is downstairs giving some access to assisted disabled people. It has a double bed and ensuite bathroom with a shower, toilet and sink.

The other 5 bedrooms are upstairs.

upstairs bedroom 2 has a double bed

upstairs bedroom 3 contains 3 single beds 2 of which are zip and link style and so so could be converted to a double/superking if required this option needs to be arranged at time of booking (or at least 1 weeks notice)

upstairs bedroom 4 has a double bed and cot

upstairs bedroom 5 contains one single bed.

ALL MATTRESSES ARE HOTEL CONTRACT POCKET SPRUNG MEDIUM TO FIRM, THE DOWNSTAIRS BEDROOM MATTRESS OFFERS MORE SUPPORT

The upstairs bathrooms are as follows..one bathroom with a bath, toilet and basin, one with a shower and basin and one just a toilet and basin. The upstairs bathrooms are not en suite.

There are bluetooth speakers in kitchen, living room and downstairs bedroom. There is a smart tv in each living room so you can watch films and programmes via the wifi

WIFI is available and included

Outside is a very large enclosed mature garden with lawns, patio furniture (picture to follow), and a view of the hills to one side.

At night on a clear night there is no light pollution so you can see the whole of the night sky!!

It is perfect for a family group or group of friends

arrangements can be made for an excellent TV chef to cook food for you in the property if required. this needs to be booked in advance please email me for details

Travel Cot (in addition to resident cot) and booster chair can be supplied on request.

Hire charge includes egyptian cotton towels and sheets, heating and wood for the fire. (bedding for babies is not included)

A gardener will tend the garden every other tuesday.

Clean sheets and towels will be provided weekly.

There is restricted access for assisted disabled people to the lower floor, but please be aware that there are small steps from kitchen to sitting room, sitting room to tv room and from sitting room to downstairs bedroom. There is a step leading into the front door.Also please note that the staircases have uneven old fashioned steps and the floors upstairs are uneven and sloping in places. It is not properly set up for wheelchairs and disabilities, but please do contact us with your requirements prior to booking and we will see if we can help. There is a gravel driveway

There is a local bus from Shrewsbury and Ludlow which stops in the middle of Ryton. There is pub in the village that serves food, and in Dorrington (which there is a footpath to) there is a pub, the Horseshoes, a persian restaurant, a grocery shop, a post office and a doctor's surgery.

Minimum stay 3 nights. usual days friday to friday, friday to monday weekend break or monday to friday midweek break. Book direct with us to avoid booking fee!

At present pets are not allowed without prior arrangement.

If required, by advance arrangement a local tv chef can be booked to cook a special meal within the property. you will need to email me to request their contact details

tesco sainsburys and asda deliver to this postcode and you could order groceries to be delivered to you in advance

Local attractions include the Shropshire hills, Cardingmill Valley, the Long Mynd, Acton Scott victorian farm, National Trust Attingham Park, Chirk castle, Dudmaston hall, Ironbridge museums including Blist's Hill, Shrewsbury flower show, Shrewsbury Folk festival, Wroxeter roman city, Shrewsbury, Ludlow, Church Stretton, Much Wenlock

pets allowed if can abide by the following common sense rules..do not leave the pet inside alone...do not allow the pet onto soft furnishings including beds and sofas...pick up after your pet outside..!
this is a quiet village so please keep noise levels to a minimum after midnight!
loud discos need to be quietened after 11pm
all male parties and large events such as weddings etc will require a £200 security deposit to cover cleaning, refuse, breakages (this is refunded if all is ok!!)
