Our home is a two storey, south facing rural villa, 15 years old, with stunning sea and valley views, nestling in the peaceful Monte Alegro (Happy Valley). Set amongst various fruit groves, the villa is built on a plot of 3.500 square meters in an extremely quiet area.It is located halfway between the coast and Competa, ideal for people who want to enjoy nature, far away from crowded places, AND at the same time do not want to stay in an isolated place. The property is situated halfway between the coast and Competa.The access to the property is very easy via a 50 m long concrete road. The Torrox exit of the highway Malaga - Almeria is at 10 minutes drive.The villa is surrounded by lovely walks amongst well established orange, mandarine, apple, aguacate (avocado),lemon, granada and mango groves.

The lower storey of 125 square meters with pool and very large terraces is available for rent. Even in summertime is it cool inside the house thanks to its thick walls. A cool covered terrace

A cool covered terrace along the pool protects against the hot summersun. The upper house, which is similar to the lower one, will be closed, so you will be all alone in the property.

The illuminated pool is heated all year round by solar energy. A great part of the terraces cannot be seen from the road - which moreover is far away - so 100% privacy is guaranteed. There is a poolside shower and a barbecue.This lower house has both satellite TV as antenna TV and high speed internet.It has all modern requirements, fans and fly screens. The living room has a lounge with leather sofas. There is a dining area, a full equipped kitchen with dishwasher, microwave, oven and a fridge; 1 bathroom and 2 bedrooms (1 double bed and 2 single beds)for 4 persons in total. In addition to the two single beds there is room for an extra bed for a fifth person.A washing machine is installed in a separate room.All prices include gas, water, electricity ,bedlinen and towels. If booking for more than 1 week, extra bedlinen and towels are available. The covered terrace has a table and chairs, next to the swimming pool.Our property is situated in a rural area of beautiful Andalucía. The view is unique on the sea and the mountains, at 400m altitude,only 8 km from the Mediterranean Sea, 50 km east of downtown Malaga and 60 km from new (2010) Malaga airport. This is the best side of the Costa del Sol, far away from noisy Torremolinos, etc. at the west.Torrox - Town, Competa and Nerja (see photograph) are at 10 to 20 minutes drive. The picturesque white village of Cómpeta, famous for its wine and honey, lies 15 minutes up the valley. There are a variety of tapas bars and restaurants around the attractive village square, supermarkets, bakeries, fishmonger, banks and craft shops. Torrox - Pueblo has an indoor market, selling locally grown produce and fresh fish. Torrox - Costa has a nice seaside esplanada with numerous restaurants to suit every taste, 3 big supermarkets, shops and several banks. The town of Nerja is famous for its 6 beaches, "discovered" by Spanish people thanks to the TV serie "Verano Azul", its beautiful Balcon de Europa and, last but not least, the famous Caves of Maro, the third most visited cultural site of Spain. The Sierras de Almijara and Tejeda are National Parks of outstanding natural beauty and ideal for walkers.The 18 hole Baviera golf course, designed by José María Canizares, is at 20 minutes drive. A set of clubs and a carry bag are available for our visitors.The green fees are very reasonable compared with those charged by the courses to the west of Malaga. The Añoreta golf club is at half an hour drive from the villa. In Motril, at 40km, is another golf course.Sevilla, Granada (La Alhambra - see photograph), the Sierra Nevada),Cordoba (La Mezquita), Gibraltar and surfers' paradise Costa de la Luz are at a few hours drive via new motorways.Spain's brand new infrastructure here in the south, thanks to EU-cofunding, makes travelling easy. Traffic jams are unknown in our region.The climate of Torrox has officially been declared as the best of Europe (almost 3.000 hours of sunshine per year during 320 days and 325 mm of rain).Our property can be found and seen on Google Earth at: - 36 degrees 47'22.72" - 3 degrees 58'10.93".

We spent two fantastic weeks in Andalusian mountains near Nerja in the house of Aerts family. While they enjoyed the coast of Southern Sweden, the greenery and peace in our country, we explored the Southern coast of Spain. Their family home in comfortably located just 10 km from the sea in among other villas on the mountain slopes.

We had long conversations on Skype and wrote email since Winter, so our exchanges were very well prepared. We liked each other and our exchange went seamlessly without any problems.

We enjoyed an excellent stay at their splendid villa with it's

lovely shaded terrace and a magnificent view of the sea.

We were able to visit the Malaga Delphinarium and the Bioparc

in Fengirolas which we really appreciated as did our children. The

Alhambra in Granada was also a very memorable visit.

Our house and car, which we also exchanged, were very well taken

care of by our exchangers. Our whole family was totally satisfied

by the exchange and we strongly recommend their home as a

wonderful place to stay if you'd like to visit this area.
