Villa in rural setting with heated swimming pool terrace and garden, fullly air-conditioned.

Casa Requena is a spacious, recently built villa, equipped with all modern facilities. Facing South and West, the villa has a private flood-lit heated swimming pool (9x4m), a large sunny terrace, sun loungers and sunshades. There are enough inflatable play tools for the pool and a solar warmed pool shower. There is also an inflatable small pool for the little ones.

The villa is registered in the Andalucian "Viviendas Turisticas" as "Casa Rural" with number VTAR/MA/1179.

The villa has 3 bedrooms, all with king size beds that, if required, can be made into 2 single beds, 2 bathrooms, spacious livingroom, very well equipped kitchen, outside kitchen with BBQ, pergola-covered outside table, and is equipped with large flat screen TV (satellite and digital terrestrial TV), sound-bar, DVD-player, internet connection with WiFi, fridge, freezer, combination oven with microwave and grill, dishwasher, washing machine, 2 safes.

The house is located in a peaceful rural setting, a few minutes drive via a concreted road from the charming white village of Competa. On August 15, Competa has its most popular fiesta , the "Noche del Vino", with Flamenco, music, dance and free flowing wine.

Away from the summer crowds on the coastline, the beaches are still within easy reach however. Due to its location, the summer heat is never oppressive and the rural environment guarantees tranquility : on most evenings the goat-bells can be heard when the herds head back to their night shelter.

The 205 km² of the nearby Almijara and Tejeda National Parks are known for their beautiful scenery and rich flora and fauna and are within walking distance

The larger region of Andalucia is known for its rich cultural heritage : Malaga, Granada, Cordoba, Gibraltar are within a couple of hours of driving from the house.

Skiing can be enjoyed in the Sierra Nevada in winter.

“The perfect tonic for a stressful life!”

It took around 15 years for me to persuade my bestie to holiday abroad and thanks to this beautiful villa I certify her cured of her aversion!! The big skies and panoramic mountain views are soothing and calming in equal measure. There is ample space to spread out, catch the sun from about 9am to 8pm ( in August), use the pool till 1am as it is lit till then, something our 3 children delighted in and retreat to an air conditioned room during the heat of the day to chill online or via the various equipment options available. If you want both together time and alone time there is plenty of space here! We loved all the gadgets in the kitchen making use of the juicer and coffee maker, plastic containers, cling film and pretty much everything else you might need. The track down to the villa ( the last mile or so) is a tad scary the first few times but totally doable. The first time you follow the Housemartins but I recommend NOT arriving in the dark! Being practical, we would suggest a stop at one of the massive supermarkets en route from Malaga airport before arriving, especially if you have vegetarians or picky eaters. There are supermarkets in Competa but these are around the size of a Tesco metro. We found a Carrefour which was immense. We bought all our alcohol ( quite a lot !) and lots of treats! We lazed about most days, sipping cocktails, listening to the crickets and recharging our depleted energy levels back up to full capacity! We would recommend this villa, in particular for those who want to just chill in an extremely private and peaceful setting. The villa is far too lush to leave for too long, each time we went out we just wanted to get back!

We arrived in Competa to be met by House Martins, as agreed, who took us to the property. The journey is approx. 1 mile from the main road via a dirt track - some care is necessary but I doubt any car would struggle. First impressions were amazing - the villa is spacious, very well equipped, with excellent facilities. The three bedrooms are all of very good size and all beds comfortable. The kitchen has everything you could expect and more, and the living area is very open and relaxing. Outside the villa is a dream! Amazing views through the mountains right down to the sea. The pool is well sized and suitable to a few relaxing laps or just lazing about on a lilo. The sun shines on the terraces and pool all day long - it really is idyllic. At night, it was brilliant to sit out and bask in the moonlight, listening to animals rustling in the bushes and various dogs barking right down the valley. Competa itself is a beautiful village - the inhabitants are all very friendly and some of the restaurants are fantastic. We were fortunate enough to visit when the Feria was in full swing - watch out for the Death Dodgems! The journey into Competa will require use of a car, and took around 10-15 minutes. The journey down to the large town at sea level (Torrox) is about 45 minutes. We hired a car at Malaga airport and got through about a tank of fuel in the week we were visiting. I would not hesitate to recommend this property to anyone! Luc has a wonderful retreat and is very easy to get in touch with.
