Location description from owner

The Balearic Islands region

Mallorca - The largest and most popular of the Balleric islands, Mallorca is set in the Mediterranean Sea off the east coast of mainland Spain. In both aesthetics and atmosphere the beautiful island of Mallorca is somewhat of a contrast. This contrast makes for an irresistible natural beauty. While the North offers dramatic mountains and rugged landscape the south levels out to pine-covered hills and windmill-dotted plains.

Thanks to its well-established tourist trade, mallorca offers a wide range of activities and excursions. Activities include golf courses, safari parks, adventure playgrounds, nature trails, sea life centres and aqua parks. Popular sports on the island also include cycling, trekking swimming, sailing and waterskiing. With such a wide variety it's safe to say 'there's something for everyone!

Despite great popularity and development, Majorca's coastline remains an astonishingly beautiful place with secluded coves of soft golden sands.

The size of the island means that you are able to sample all of its beauty without having to spend the whole day in the car!

Whether you want to sun yourself in peace and quiet or live it up in the hot spots until the early hours, Majorca is just the resort for you.

Colonia de Sant Pere

Colonia is located in the north-east of the island on the edge of the Rustica (National Trust land) with stunning views of the mountains and Bay of Alcudia. The beach is small, safe and suitable for the little ones. The small marina proffers a selection of boats from fishing vessels to luxury yachts. There are nineteen superb restaurants and bars within a few minutes walk of the villa. These offer a wide selection of local food, fish being a speciality, as well as Italian, an Argentinian steak house, and European food, with alfresco dining along the sea front.

Relax in this charming small quiet
village which boasts no hotels, or enjoy the delights of the local resorts.

Colonia is close to all the resorts along the east coast where night life and designer shops abound. To the north-west is the bay of Pollensa and the famous hotel at Formentor. Arta is the closest town with many historic buildings, shops and restaurants.

Close to Colonia are six golf clubs including Pula, home of the Mallorca Classic and Alcanada, at the north-west end of the Bay of Alcudia, voted the best course on the island by the Peugeot Golf Guide. Add to the list water sports, horse riding, walking and cycling and there is something for everyone.

In or out of season there is plenty to occupy the discerning visitor. There are numerous festivals, the spring almond blossom is something to behold and one can explore the magnificent mountains and historic buildings.

“Brilliant!”

Thoroughly enjoyed our holiday at La Vista villa. The rooftop terrace was simply wonderful, enjoying the beautiful sunset views. Thankyou

Hi, Thank you for taking the time to share your experience with other travellers. I am so pleased to hear how much you enjoyed your stay, the villa, and the roof terrace. The views really are incredible from there, both over the sea, and of course behind, to the mountains. You may be interested to know that we are having an 8 person hot tub fitted on the roof terrace at the start of next year, so that the views can be enjoyed all year round. I hope that we can welcome you back to stay in the future. Thanks again, John

“Outstanding property in a beutiful relaxing location”

Reviewed 12 Sep 2016

An amazing property in close proximity to a quite sheltered beach and some of the finest resturants with excellant quisine. Me and my family have just returned from a week and found the holiday one of the most relaxing we have had. With no hassle booking and finding the location and an easy key pick up. There are also some beutiful walks to take and bike rides, which were supplied in the house. Also after a long day of relaxing we had great fun chilling out in the jacuzzi at the back of the house. I would totally recommend a stay here and we look forward to returning.

“Beautiful Villa and Amazing service”

This is the second time I have stayed in this villa and would Highly recommend to anyone wanting a relaxing holiday. Lovely restaurants and bars a short walk away but most importantly the beautiful sunsets and views from the roof terrace.

Thank you for taking the time to review La Vista and sharing your experience with other travellers. It is always great to hear from guests who have enjoyed their stay at the house, and of course, to welcome people back who have enjoyed it so much that they want to stay again. Many people comment on the sunsets, which are quite breath-taking. We hope to be able to welcome you back again soon, and thank you once again.

“A comfortable, relaxing stay.”

La Vista was perfect for our extended family of 5 adults and 3 young kids. Well equipped and comfortable, the roof terrace and hot tub were fantastic. The area was nice and quiet, albeit the start of the season, but this suited us with the kids. Would definitely consider coming back.

Hi, I am so pleased to hear what a great holiday you had in Mallorca. I am glad that you found the house comfortable and well equipped, and that you were able to take advantage of all the house has to offer, including the roof terrace and hot tub. I hope that we will be able to welcome you and your family to stay again in the future. Kind Regards, John

“Incredible Holiday in an Amazing House”

Reviewed 2 Feb 2014

We booked the house on a recommendation from a friend who had stayed in 2012, and we were not disappointed. We did a big shop in Palma, at the supermarket near to the airport, and from there the journey to the house took about 35 minutes, and we took in some fairly breathtaking scenery. Although a slightly longer drive than we would normally have gone for, we saw a lot of the island that we wouldn't have seen if we stayed closer to the airport. The villa was easy to find, and just a few hundred yards from the beach, and the village square. In the village square was a small supermarket which sold freshly baked bread daily, and had a small delicatessen / butchers, as well as an excellent range of wines, and household essentials (wine was cheaper there than in the big supermarkets). The villa itself was very well presented, and very clean. It had everything we needed with plenty of cooking utensils, crockery, glasses etc. The rooms were very nice, and ample towels were supplied. We loved the sky package which included movies and sports, and the WiFi was surprisingly fast, even when a few of us were all connected at once. There are a number of restaurants along the beach front, which we ate at most nights, although we did have a BBQ on the roof terrace one night which was really nice. There is a large stone built in BBQ and grill, a large table and chairs, sofas and sun loungers on the roof terrace, and the views are stunning, sunset across the bay was particularly beautiful. There was also a hot tub in the back garden, which was nice, although we only used it once. We spent our time split between relaxing and sightseeing, and would recommend a trip to the caves of Arta (about 10 mins drive) which were spectacular, and in my opinion a lot better, and far less commercialised than the caves of Drach. There's plenty to do in the local area, and we enjoyed go-karting and horse riding, both in Can Picafort (about 15 mins away). I would say, that unless your planning just to relax at the villa and on the beach, a car is a must, as there's so much to do and see in the surrounding area, but you need a car to get to it all. Over all we were very impressed and will definitely recommending the villa to family and friends, and I hope to return again myself soon.

Hi, Thank you for sharing your experience with us and other travellers. I am pleased that you enjoyed your stay at La Vista, and were impressed with the property and its location. As you say there is lots to do and see in the local area, and I am glad to hear that you took advantage of this. I hope that we will be able to welcome you to stay again in the future. Kind Regards, John

“Great house and location”

Reviewed 8 Aug 2013

A very nice house in a small and quiet village. The house is well equipped and nicely furnished, both inside and in the backyard and not least the wonderful roof terrace. The grill on the roof terrace is primitive and was not cleaned. We did not use it at all when it was horrendous. In addition, after a day at the beach the welcoming hot tub lets you relax with a nice glass of good drink. Colonia St. Pere has restaurants to suit all tastes and grocery stores to groceries. The house and the place can be recommended and we will gladly return.

Thank you for your review of La Vista. I am very pleased that you enjoyed your stay, and appreciated the facilities on offer. We are constantly looking for ways to improve the property and the experience of our guests. This year we replaced all the terrace furniture with new luxury sun loungers, sofas and chairs. The BBQ that you mentioned in your review, was installed temporarily for the summer after the last one was broken, and I am very pleased to confirm that this September we are having a large built in stone BBQ / Kitchen installed on the roof terrace, which will make cooking 'Al Fresco' much more convenient. I am pleased to see that despite the BBQ you had a great stay at La Vista, and enjoyed the hot tub and other facilities, and hope that we can welcome you back to stay again soon. Kind Regards, John

“Lovely Villa”

Reviewed 11 Feb 2013

Short break with family for a chill out time. Great setting and the Villa is very well equipped. The kids enjoyed the games station, and kept them quiet while me and my partner relaxed in the hot tub. Good selection of local bars and the beach is a very short walk. All in all a very nice place to stay, with reasonable charges, and good location to explore the north. Will definately be back.

Thank you for your review of La Vista. I am glad to hear that you had such an enjoyable holiday, and that you were able to make the most of the excellent facilities on offer. I hope that we can welcome you to stay again in the future.
