The Andalucia region
Andalucia has so much to offer. Spectacular natural parks, beautiful beaches, sunshine, Moorish history, fabulous architecture and some beautiful cities.
Whereever you stay in this beautiful region you are never too far from the coast or countryside.
Malaga has a very popular and extremely large summer festival(feria) in August with street parades, Flamenco dancing, fairground and processions
During Easter week there is also an itinerary of religious processions through out the streets of Malaga , some by candlelight and each religious chapter dressed in communal robes. Malaga s most famous son, Antonio Banderas has often participated.
Rio Gordo , located inland also host the world famous "Passion Play" reliving the life of Christ.
The summer is a celebration in all villages, each having their own ferias alasting usually 4 days with typical Andalucian singing, dancing and food.
Our property is located in the heart of Montes de Malaga Natural park.
A true place to experience peace and tranquility , with cool breezes and fragrant pines.
The property is totally private but is within walking distance of a 5 star Hotel, Hotel Cortigo La Reina and also Venta Detalla, a typical spanish"· Venta" which serves regional and popular cuisine and tapas. They also have free wifi.
The historic city of Malaga is only 15 kms and has a fabulous cathedral, Picasso Museum, Gibalfaro Castle, Roman Amphitheatre and small narrow streets weaving past great tapas bars.
In the other directions, the white village of Colmenar, the capital of the Montes de Malaga is a 20 minute picturesque drive. The village has a good selection of local shops, small supermarkets, banks, chemist, restaurants, bakeries, butchers, municipal swimming pool and a honey museum.
Historic Antequera, cosmopolitan Marbella, Nerja and the caves, Ronda with its gorge andworld famous bullring, Cordoba, Granada and Seville are all possible day trips.
The cuisine is traditional, varied and ofte made from the freshest ingredients
Plenty of beaches, fabulous country walks, excellent bird watching and a great selection golf courses too!
