On arrival at the property, the location and villa itself exude space, tranquility and grandeur.

The "piece de resistance" is definitely the magnificent pool area with its spectacular views. Children and adults like will love this huge shimering pool and the extensive patios surrounding it.

There are plenty of sunbeds to enjoy the beautiful weather , grounds to wander around and dining areas to enjoy the warm barmy night , dining al fresco, watching the stars twinkle in the darkened skies.

If it is relaxation you require, then look no further , a huge roof canopy envelopes the house giving a lovely shaded area , ideal for reading, relaxing, resting, and in the evenings enjoying a well deserved glass of vino.

For the more energetic and children, there is a table tennis table and many walks around the local countryside.

The inside of the house is pristine, cool and relaxing. A central atrium constitutes the main living area with a choice of seating areas.

The fully fitted kitchen is ideal for those who wish to indulge in their passion for cooking or just to make simple dishes, to rest and benefit from the peace and tranquillity of the area .

The location of the villa is ideal if you wish to explore the delights of inland Andalucia, its hidden villages with sleepy streets and tempting tapa bars, rolling hills covered in sweet smelling almonds, olives, local goats and mules passing by at a slow and leisurely pace.

Granada, Cordoba, Ronda and Nerja are also possible to visit in a day and are all well worth the visit to indulge in the culture and history of this wonderful area. The beaches are also an easy drive, Burriana beach in Nerja being very picturesque, offering water sports and the famous" grand paella".

The local village is also only a very short drive and has a good election of tapas bars, local restaurants, shops, bakeries, butchers, 24 hour medical centre, chemist, banks , weekly fruit and veg market etc.

The property is ideal for friends and family alike. There is plenty of space for all and to ensure a truly enjoyable holiday.

A fully fitted kitchen with marble work surfaces, 2 ovens , American fridge/freezer with ice maker, dishwasher, microwave, gas and electric hobs, kettle , toaster etc is definitely an ideal base for any budding chef to try out their culinary skills!

The patio doors lead out directly onto the pool area and further round to the BBQ.

The main living area is based around a spectacular high celinged atrium with curved staircase. There is a comfy TV area with corner unit and sat TV and DVD. Further around is a seating area for reading or relaxing with leather sofas and a small library. From here there is access again to the pool area through patio doors with electronic shutters.

The separate dining room has an ultra modern dining table with leather chairs and a small seating area to the far end with leather sofas.

Weaving you way upstairs the 4 spacious double bedrooms are all accessed off a galleried landing.

The beds are high quality fully sprung mattresses and the master suite has a magnificent 4 metre wide bed!

2 hair-dryers are also provided

Master bedroom has ensuite with bath , separate shower, twin glass sink basins, walk in wardrobe, private balcony from patio doors.

Bedroom 2 has an ensuite bathroom with bath, walk in shower, sink, bday and toilet, double bed with seperate mattresses, sitting area with sofas and coffee table, door leading onto a large 10 metre patio shared with bedroom 3.

Bedroom 3 has an ensuite with shower, double bed with separate mattresses, access to a 10 metre balcony shared with bedroom 2.

Bedroom 4 has an ensuite bathroom with large walk in shower, twin beds, extensive storage space and access onto a private balcony.

All doors and windows have shutters and wrough iron gates are also on the balcony exits so can be locked for security, children etc if required.

Further details outdoors

The views are absolutely stunning from all sides of the property, especially from around the pool area. The pretty hilltop village of Comares can be seen in the distance and at night the villages across the valley twinkle in the darkness.

The pool is extremely large measuring 10 m by 5 metres, has a Roman end, steps at the opposite end and a slide.There are extensive patios around the pool area with sunbeds and wooden "deck chairs". Also there is an extended shaded area with ratten furniture and dining table and chairs. This whole area is designated for ideal for sunbathing, relaxing, dining al fresco and enjoying the beautiful countryside and views.

To the rear of the property is a covered area with a table tennis table and for those feeling a little more energetic ,there are plenty of walks around the local area.

There is a gas BBQ available and and also a pool shower and separate outside shower and bathroom.

The property is totally fenced and has large gates at the entrance to the drive.

There is ample parking directly alongside the property for numerous cars.

If you would like to rent the property a 30 % deposit confirms your booking. The balance can be paid any time up to 6 weeks prior to your arrival. A receipt and copy of the payment are sent to you along with directions, booking contract and request form. Payment can be made in £'s or euros at the equivalent rate and can be done by bank transfer or Paypal. Any costs incurred in a transfer are paid by yourselves.

The property is booked for whole weeks only and any special offers are also for full weeks.

Changeover day is Saturday during peak season , out of main season we are more flexible , please ask.

A welcome pack can be provided for your arrival, please ask.

Cot, high chair and box of toys available on request, please book in advance.

Internet /wifi available 45€ payable on arrival, PLEASE BOOK IN ADVANCE .

A security/damage deposit is required on arrival of £200/200 eurosl(no cheques). This is returned in full on your departure as long as there are no breakages.

Electric is paid for seperately . This is read by meter.

The Andalucia region

This region is well known for it long hot summers but is ideal for winter breaks due to the mild and ofen suny winters.

The area has a wealth of places to visit, historic cities, beaches, golf courses etc. The famous cities of Granada, Cordoba and Ronda are an easy day trip as are Antequera, Nerja, and its caves and cosmopolitan Marbella.

To the west of Malaga there are beach resorts of Torremolinos, Benalmadena with its huge award winning marina, fishings trips and Fuengirola.

To the East are the Spanish resorts of Torre del Mar with long promenades for walks and local fish restaurants, Torrox and Nerja with its famous"Balcon de Europa", caves and good shops and restaurants. Burriana beach for water sports and the famous paella.

The coast has very good shopping centres, zoos, water parks, local markets, horse and flamenco shows, an abundanceof golf courses, amusement parks etc. The main city of Malaga has a very beautiful cathederal and an old quarter with tapas bars and local music, an old castle with views over the port and a paseo with city gardens and walks along with horse drawn carriages. The shopping is also very good.

The airport is only a 30 minute drive from the propery, as is the main bus/train station.


The local village of Colmenar is known as the capital of the Axarquia region of Andalucia. It derives its name from the beehive or "colmena" and its organic honey can be bought today. The village also has a honey museum showing the process of collecting and producing the local honey.

The village lies in an elevated position with a church at the very top of the vllage. The views from here of the surrounding area are superb. Colmenar has a very good selection of tapas bars, restaurants, bakers, butchers, small supermarkets, chemist, 24 hour medical centre , banks and a weekly fresh fruit and veg market.

It is also well connected by good roads to the motorway junction only kms away making it an ideal base for touring and for easy day trips sightseeing.

The village has 2 main festivals, one in February and one in August although all the surrounding villages also have their own festivals. The Spanish always have something to celebrate!

Colmenar is close to the villages of Rio Gordo, Alfernate and the beautiful hilltop village of Comares.

There is a small local park, huge municipal swimming pool and a great area for country walks.

A small riding stable is located a few miles away and the area is also idea for birdwatching and bike riding.

The Montes de Malaga national park has lovely cool walks in the pine forests and the Torcal National Park with its fabulous rock formations is good for walks and picnics.

Goats and their herders and mules are often still found roaming the country paths of this area.

The area really has something for everybody, but it is also ideal for relaxing and taking the slow pace of life in the Andalucian countryside in the beautiful sunshine!

There were just two of us staying in the lovely villa that sleeps 8 so we had this lovely large villa to ourselves, loads of room, so many sofas to choose from! The villa was really well equipped, all the rooms were large and the kitchen was great, top quality appliances with the American fridge a favourite with its iced water, ice cubes and crushed ice. The views from all over the grounds and villa are breath taking, the pool is one of the largest we have had, plenty of room for fun or serious swimming. Table tennis is also provided with plenty of balls and bats, on the back patio which is a bit cooler. Lovely rural area with the highlight being the local goat herd coming by. I would recommend this highly to anyone. You do need a car but the roads although steep and curvy are good!
