" La Casita " at Casa Pinar is a pretty, detached, Andalusian cottage. It is cosy and traditional, nestling in the quiet hills above Colmenar with great views. It is part of a small farm in a tranquil setting, adjoining the " Montes de Málaga " national park. The casita is approached from the old Málaga road (A 7000) by 2 kilometers of good track, winding through the pine forests. La Casita offers twin beds on a mezzanine level, with a sitting room, small kitchen and bathroom. Your very private terrace overlooks our vineyard, peppered with almond, olive and fruit trees. There are plenty of outside seating areas with lots of flowers. The wood burning stove with free logs, offers heating for the occasional, chillier evenings in spring and autumn. La Casita is the ideal base for chilling out or exploring the beautiful national park by bike, on foot or on horseback. A bar and restaurant lies just 2 km distant and serves a variety of typical Spanish country fare. The village shops of Colmenar will supply all other needs. Use of our swimming pool with magnificent views is encouraged !! This is the ideal spot for exploring the countryside or just a quiet break.

The Andalucia region
The "Montes de Málaga" national park amounts to some 4,900 hectares criss crossed with tracks standing some 800-900 metres above sea level with some fabulous views down to the sea. This is an unspoiled part of Spain with eagles and buzzards circling and herds of goats grazing. Wild boars can sometimes be seen and at the right time of the year even pop out at night and devour our grapes ! There are many species of flora and fauna to be found, the wild orchids and flowers in the spring cover the ground. The Natural Park has an old museum of wine generally open on a Sunday. Málaga lies some 35 minutes to the south. The cities of Córdoba, Sevilla and Granada are all a day trip away as are some of the pretty typical white washed hill villages ("Los Pueblos Blancos").
Colmenar is a village of some 3,000 souls, with a museum of honey, many bars and a variety of restaurants. It has small supermarkets and all the usual services. It even has a very good 24 hr emergency health center. The locals are very warm and friendly. Market day is Thursday, the fiesta (local party and festival) is usually held during the second week of August.

"A lovely relaxing retreat"
We couldn't fault the Casita and it is exactly as described. A lovely rural retreat perfect for our honeymoon. You do need a car as the property is very isolated but once on the main roads it is easy to access Cordoba and the sea side both around an hours drive away and worth a trip. The views are fantastic and the owners very welcoming along with the dogs and chickens!
Many thanks for your kind words, and we are so pleased you enjoyed your honeymoon with us. We look forward to welcoming you again. Kindest Nick

"Welcoming and Relaxing"
From start to finish this accomodation was brilliant, the owners nick and nicky were lovely and welcoming, they could'nt do enough for us, they were very helpful when questioned about the surrounding area and the place was very clean and tidy. Everything was top notch and could'nt of asked for more, the pool was great and we loved the dogs. It was fantastic to get away from the hustle and bustle of eveyday life and recharge our batteries, but if you need noise and company just pop down to Malaga. We will definitely be booking for next year. Overall the holiday and the accomodation was a lovely experience.

"perfect little bolt hole"
Although slightly apprehensive on travelling on my own I could not have picked a better place. The Castia at Casa Pinar is about 30 km out of Malaga and although my flight arrived late evening Nick the proprietor was waiting for me to show me round the cottage. Converted from the old goat shed the cottage has a very relaxing and spacious air about it. 2 great sized spaces and the kitchen area has everything you need for your self catering holiday. The views from the terrace look out the hills north and is a real sun trap. This is definitely an dog lovers place - 4 very charming hounds keep you entertained and 2 are more than happy for you to take them for a hike through the Natural Park which the Casita borders. Nick and Nikki have a great knowledge of the surrounding area and the village of Colmenar has many amenities including supermaket, florist and an evasive Honey Museum! The pool is refreshing and welcome at the end of a walk/sunbathing/shopping trip.... looking forward to returning
Thanks, we did enjoy meeting you. Hope to see you next year.
