From the owner

Our fabulous Spanish country villa in Andalucia in southern Spain is the perfect large family holiday home. The house is set in over 4 acres of almond & olive trees in stunning private surroundings in the spanish countryside, but is only 10 minutes from the traditional white Spanish villages of Riogordo and Colmenar and only 35 minutes from Malaga airport.

The house sleeps up to 14 in 6 large bedrooms - two doubles and two twin bedrooms upstairs and two double bedrooms with an extra single bed in each downstairs. The downstairs bedrooms are not connected to the upstairs by an internal staircase but are easily accessible via the pool area. The modern kitchen is fully fitted including a dishwasher. The main living area has air-conditioning for the summer & heating for the winter. TV with DVD and broadband internet access is included. The house has a full size pool - 8m x 4m - with plenty of space around it for sunbathing. In addition there is a separate large games/utility room with dartboard and pool table and a laundry.

Please note that being in the countryside there is approximately 1km of bumpy dirt road from the main road to the villa, so you will need a suitable vehicle. See the photos.

We provide a welcome pack and have English speaking representatives available to help. All linen and towels are provided and changed weekly. We provide some swimming towels.We do require a refundable 250 euro key/damage deposit.

There is a Games Room downstairs with a pool table and dart board.

A large table and chairs set under the shady shelter next to the pool is perfect for el fresco dining in the summer. In addition there are verandahs and patios around the villa for those looking for a quiet corner to read. A barbecue is available to guests.The large 8 x 4 metre pool is ideal for keeping cool or entertaining kids.Ample parking

Things to do: The villa is very well situated to take advantage of the many activities available in the local area. Whether your ideal holiday consists of lying about with a good book or testing the local golf courses then this is the ideal base. For beach lovers, the villa is within easy reach of the coast - less than 30 minutes drive - with access to numerous beaches. Torre del Mar also has many other activities like the Aqua Velis waterpark at Torre del Mar - one of the largest in Andalucia. Also in Torre del Mar are other activities like Karting del Sol and Ozone bowling. With the stunning mountain scenery and lots of trails for walking and photography, there is plenty to keep everyone busy.

So glad you had a good holiday, although if internal access to all bedrooms was considered essential to your holiday, it may have been a good idea to check with us before booking. This is the first time in 10 years this has been raised as a complaint. With regard to the local wildlife (woodlice, wasps, geckos), this is really outside our control - probably to be expected when you book a villa in the countryside, although the dog must belong to a local farmer. Nobody has this mentioned this before and we have certainly never seen a dog on the patio. A 4x4 is most certainly not essential for drivers comfortable with driving on dirt roads. The guests immediately prior to your stay had Opel Corsas and said they managed fine. We have even had someone with a BMW Cabriolet stay and couldn’t understand why we had warned them about the dirt road!

How do damage deposits work?

In most cases, you don’t pay a damage deposit up front. Instead, we save your payment details securely and you’re only charged in the event of damage to the property.

Occasionally, you will pay a damage deposit up front as part of the total rental cost. In this case, the owner has 10 days after you check out to report any damage. If they don’t, we’ll return your deposit. If their claim is successful, we’ll deduct the agreed cost and return the remainder.

How do I edit my booking?

You can request to change the dates or number of people on your booking via the Manage your holiday booking page. To change your holiday dates use the Edit booking button. If you need to change the number of guests staying then send Colin (the owner) a message.

If Colin (the owner) agrees, they’ll send you a revised quote outlining the changes. You can review and accept/decline this from the Manage your holiday booking page. You’ll have 48 hours to take action before the revised quote expires.
