Location description from owner

The Occitanie region

The region has many spectacular gorges, isolated monasteries and abbeys and an untold number of medievial villages. This is one of the worlds greatest wine making regions with every village seeming to have at least one Cave.
Perpignan is the capital of the region and the Palace of the Majorcan Kings is a dominant feature.
Carcassonne is steeped in history and is a UNESCO world heritage site.
Other places definitely worth a visit are Ceret, Elne, Port Vendres, Banyuls sur Mer, Sete which are all in France. Across the border in Spain is Barcelona, Figueres and the Costa Brava. If you are after the mountains and tax free haven you can always head to Andorra which has some very impressive scenery.

Collioure

Collioure sits in the foothills of the Pyrenees where they meet the Mediterranean Sea and boasts over 300 days of sunshine a year.

There are the mazy streets with traditional fishermens cottages, pied boats, military fort, secluded beaches and delightful shops and galleries.
Collioure has long been the source of inspiration for artists and poets and it is easy to see why Picasso, Matisse, Durain and many more spent time here and imortalised the small Catalan harbour. There are approximately 30 galleries and many artists, Collioure is still "City of Painters".

Close by you have Golf, Horse Riding, Vineyards and regular boat trips along the coast.

“High quality accommodation in Majorca.”

Reviewed 6 Jun 2011

The villa was a pleasant haven in the middle of winter in the south of France. Everything was available to make our holiday perfect. The views of the Mediterranean from all the windows are spectacular, the complex in which the villa is situated is quiet and of a high standard. The villa has everything we needed for a restful holiday, it is tastefully decorated. The area in which it is situated is within easy distance of the town and tourist attractions and their was plenty to see and do even in the winter period. A short drive will take you over the border to Spain and the Pyrenees mountains which is a must see. We had a fantastic week here and would recommend it to any traveler.

“Beautiful Villa within easy walking distance of Collioure”

Reviewed 19 May 2011

An unbelievably well equipped villa in a small development of new properties with a shared, but underused in our experience, swimming pool. The owner was very attentive (from afar) and insistant that we felt at home in her "little piece of paradise". The village is a short walk away (although all uphill on the way back) and there is plenty to see in the surrounding area.
