Location description from owner

The Scotland region

The village of Coldingham is a very popular holiday destination with lots of activities and places to visit nearby. Coldingham beach is an award winning beach with a seasonal beach café and water sports including surfing. There are also many other local beaches including Pease Bay which are well worth a visit. For walkers there are many beautiful walks nearby including the Berwickshire coastal path, St Abbs Head Nature reserve and the Southern Upland Way.

Coldingham is close to the stunning fishing village of St Abbs which is a world famous diving destination and boasts a wonderful nature reserve.

The fishing town of Eyemouth is just a five minutes drive from the cottage where you can visit the seals in the harbour and enjoy fish and chips and award winning ice cream. There is also a golf course in Eyemouth and swimming pool. No visit to Eyemouth would be complete with a visit to Gunsgreen House where you can learn about the history of smuggling.

Fantastic area and perfect cottage for our family . Clean with everything we would want and need. Close to Eyemouth and st abbs bay as well as coldingham. A marvellous coast line and a day trip to holy island was a true adventure ramble that the kids and dog loved.

Thank you very much for your review. I am pleased you enjoyed your stay and hope to welcome you again in the future. Best Wishes Mairi

“The Good, The Bad, The Ugly”

Reviewed 1 Aug 2016

The house was in a great location only 10 minutes drive from the Coldingham beech. Was in easy reach of lots of coastal towns and there was plenty of activities in the area for children. Would defiantly recommend a visit to the National museum of flight for a chance to see Concorde. Lots of hot water in the cottage and lots of space to relax with great gardens for children to play. However the cottage was not without faults. Kitchen was dirty and the cupboards had to be wiped before we could put food in them (However the bedrooms and bathrooms were clean??) The oven was filthy Stains in the carpets were hidden under rugs Shower room downstairs had several faults, extractor falling off wall and not working, shower door kept falling off the rails and the bracket for the shower head was loose. Light fitting was rusty and needs replacing. Sofa in the lounge was broken and uncomfortable. Its a shame as the cottage would be great if the faults were corrected but more importantly maintained to a high standard. All in all we had a great holiday which would have be been made extra special if the cottage was to the standard we expected

Extremely surprised and devastated to read your review particularly after receiving five star reviews from our guests who stayed the week before you and the week after you. We are grateful for all feedback from our guests and we will fully investigate any negative points raised and rectify any problems we find as soon as we can. We are glad you enjoyed your stay in the cottage.
