Getting around

If you arrive by car it is very easy to get around. We would recommend a car especially if you come for a week. You can shop in the village or nearby Eyemouth (5-10 minutes) drive or head into Berwick (15-20) or visit Edinburgh (45-6 minutes). If you don't have a car there is a good bus service between Edinburgh and Coldingham. You can walk from the house to the village in 10 minutes. Many people organise an internet supermarket delivery.

Interaction with guest

My sister and I run the house together with the help of our fantastic cleaner. We know a lot about the area as we have been visiting Coldingham with our families for many years. We don't live nearby but we are contactable on our mobiles. If you have an issue during you stay we will try to resolve it and if we can't we will send one if our trusted contact.

House rules

We do not allow stag or hen parties. The house is not suitable for groups under the age of 21. We expect all our guests to leave the house clean and tidy and to take bottles to the bottle bank in the village as well as put rubbish in the outside bins. If the house is left in an unacceptable condition you will be charged extra for cleaning.

Unfortunately, we have had to add these house rules due to a small number of people who have not respected the Old Manor.

“Old Manor House Coldingham”

Reviewed 29 Nov 2017

We go away every year, this year we decided to go to my favourite place in the whole wide world. The place is Coldingham I have been coming here for 35 years but this time i have stayed in a house. I wanted to bring my friend and in-laws. We had an amazing stay. The house was beautiful the views where stunning. Everyday waking up to those views was amazing. We loved it so much we are going to go next year. You really have a beautiful house in a stunning location. Everything that we needed was there and a wonderful time was had by all.

Owner's reply: Dear Dellydoll, We are so pleased that you enjoyed your stay at The Old Manor. We love the views too and so hope that you will come back and visit again. All the best, Suzie

“Beautiful house in a fantastic location”

Reviewed 24 Feb 2016

We stayed here over Christmas and New Year with our extended family - 10 of us in total. The house was extremely comfortable and warm. It was a beautful house, was even nicer than in the pictures. The location was perfect it was wonderful waking up to see the sea in the mornings, there were lots of lovely walks nearby and the house is close enough that you can drive into Edinburgh if you wanted to. The owners were lovely and extremely helpful, they arranged a Christmas tree and even an extra TV a few days before Christmas. The house has everything you could need and I would definitely recommend it.

Owner's reply: We are so pleased you had a great Christmas and New Year at the Old Manor! We look forward to welcoming you back again.

“What a fantastic place !”

Reviewed 24 Feb 2016

The house was clean and in pristine condition when we arrived in the evening but we did not appreciate the full beauty of the house and setting until the next morning when we awoke to the fantastic view from the windows. The house is situated right above the beach and the views from the front overlook the whole bay, just a few moments walk from the surf. The house is fully fitted with all mod cons and has a good sizes kitchen and connecting eating area that worked really well for our large group. The separate living rooms downstairs also worked well with the various children and adults being able to have all have their own space. Definitely worth a visit - beautiful house in wonderful setting!

Owner's reply: We are so pleased you had a great stay at the Old Manor. We look forward to welcoming you back again.

“great location”

Reviewed 15 Sep 2015

The Old Manor was exceptional ,there was lots of room for 8/10 people, furnishings and fitments first class, and the view from a number of rooms over the bay breath taking. Lots of walks and places to visit. Highly recommended.

Owner's reply: Wonderful to hear that you had a lovely stay at the Old Manor and we look forward to welcoming you back again.

“Perfect!”

Reviewed 31 Aug 2015

We chose The Old Manor and Coldingham Bay as the venue for our wedding based on a recommendation from a friend who had previously stayed and we can honestly say we couldn't have picked a better place. The house is beautifully furnished, extremely comfortable and fixtures and fittings are of a very high standard. The house has such a warm and happy vibe to it and everyone who stayed felt the same. The views are just stunning and we loved being able to lie in bed and fall asleep to the sound of the sea below our window. The beach is very easily accessible as are the coastal walks, both of which provided much enjoyment. Susie and Sarah did thier utmost to make sure we would have a happy stay and a perfect wedding and we can't recommend this house highly enough. Overall rating? 6 stars!

Owner's reply: We are so pleased to hear that your wedding celebrations went well and that you enjoyed your stay at the Old Manor by the sea.

Great attention has been given to guests possible requirements and useful equipment provided. The area is fantastic, lovely quiet beach, great walks for all ages and good eating available near by.

“Fantastic family house and beautiful location.”

Reviewed 23 Oct 2014

The house is light, large and airy with lots of views of the beautiful coastline. I found everything as was described. Spotless with all new bed linen and towels. Furnishings in pristine condition and all mod cons. Lovely fire in the lounge for cosy colder evenings, big dining table and all ensuite bedrooms. Ideal for families or a bunch of friends. Went for a 6 mile walk along the coast to St Abbot's Head. Easy walk and spectacular scenery. Would thoroughly recommend the Old Manor.

“This is the place for a relaxing stay in truly high quality accommodation. A jewel by the sea.”

Top class accommodation. Tastefully furnished. Every facility is available in the house. Fantastic views. Lots of amenities close by and further afield. I plan on returning. I would highly recommend it.
