Carefully restored and tastefully decorated by its loving owners, the cottage is ideally situated, overlooking the Parish church, and close to all Cockermouth's amenities, including superb restaurants, excellent pubs, interesting specialist shops and the lively Kirkgate Arts Centre.

With its four poster bed and log-effect electric stove, this snug cottage for two makes a romantic hideaway at any time of the year.

Strictly no smoking. One well-behaved dog only.

Cockermouth

The historic market town of Cockermouth lies on the north-west edge of the Lake District National Park, within easy reach of the quieter, wilder, Western Lakes, but also convenient for the whole Lake District and the Hadrian's Wall area. Only 15 minutes' drive from the tourist attractions of Keswick - boat trips, theatre, cafes, easy and strenuous walking, off-road biking, climbing wall - and only 30 minutes from Ambleside in the heart of the English Lakes.
It's also close to the Solway Coast Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty and the UNESCO world heritage site of Hadrian's wall.
Cockermouth itself is renowned for its wide tree-lined main street with an unrivalled selection of independent shops, restaurants, pubs and coffee shops.
The National Trust manages Wordsworth's Birthplace as a Living History experience, and Jennings Brewery offers daily tours in the summer, together with a superb pint all year. The Kirkgate Arts Centre has a lively programme of weekly cinema, live music and drama.
