“Nice little hideout”

Reviewed 23 Mar 2017

Lovely location & nicely tucked away. This was booked as a birthday gift for my husband and I. We had horrendous weather but it didn't bother us as we were cosy inside the lovely warm log cabin. We had a lovely chilled out weekend. We ate in The Shireburn Arms & the food is delicious We had breakfast provided for us by Barry & his wife. They put bacon eggs sausages, beans & milk in the fridge & a lovely fresh sliced loaf of bread We saw some beautiful wildlife in the field. Wild bunnies grouse, pheasant, beautiful barn Owl sheep cows horses weasel. We would like to visit later on in the year to explore more & take advantage of the hot tub. Thank you Barry & your wife for letting us share your cosy tranquil log cabin, we well & truly relaxed & had an amazing weekend.

Owner's reply: Many thanks for your kind review, hope to see you again in the near future,(with a little sunshine). Kind Regards Barry and Cath

“Nice little break!”

Reviewed 19 Feb 2017

My partner and I booked the lodge for 2 nights. Location is great, the views are great and the hot tub was fab! We went for a meal at the shireburn arms pub which is literally on the door step, food was lovely and quite reasonably priced. We took our little dog and she loved it too! The only thing that let this lovely little lodge down was how uncomfortable the bed was. The mattres was super hard! But all in all we had a great weekend

Owner's reply: Many thanks for your kind comments.beds are a subjective thing I like a soft mattress the wife likes a hard one.Just to say very surprised it didn't meet your needs,3 week old king size bed with a memory foam mattress seems to do the trick for the majority of our guests.Hope to see you again. kind regards Barry and Cath
