Description from owner

Description

Duck Pond Cottage is one of the Hopton Cottages - two lovely cottages tucked away in the grounds of The Hopton Crown, an 18th Century Shropshire coaching inn with great food, beers and wines.

The cottages offer the perfect opportunity to relax in a country setting. Each has 2 bedrooms plus a sofabed in the sitting room. Three bathrooms with showers mean that there's never a queue for the loo!

Outside each cottage has a pretty garden looking out on to the babbling stream at the back of the property or on to the duckpond in the grounds. They also have patios with BBQ facilities.

Getting around

While a car is recommended, we are on a bus route which operates several times a day between the beautiful medieval town of Ludlow and the larger (and less charming!) town of Kidderminster which benefits from many large national retailers. Cleobury Mortimer is a charming little town around 30 minutes walk away, which has an array of small retailers, a Co-op supermarket, a Lloyds bank and a couple of charming cafes. Thankfully it is a Starbucks-free zone!

Interaction with guest

The cottages are in the grounds of the 17th Century Hopton Crown coaching inn (they have a separate entrance behind a tall hedge, and have private gardens). You'll pick up your keys from the reception at the Hopton Crown.
