Description

CAPE COD CHALET is a newly renovated wooden beach chalet situated on the 1940’s beach site known as the Humberston Fitties, meaning salt Marsh land. Originally the “Fitties” was a soldier’s camp in the Second World War and over the years the area has evolved into one of the most popular family destinations on the East Coast.

CAPE COD has been decorated with love and attention to detail, it has a quirky seaside style mixed with the owners love for vintage and shabby chic. Fabrics by Ralph Lauren and Cath Kidston, mixed with pretty painted furniture that has been lovingly restored back to life. A table and chairs is provided for outside dining and also a barbecue to cook on or better still a barbecue evening on the beach.

Further details

CAPE COD CHALET is privately owned and LOVED! It is used by the owner and her family throughout the year, so it is always homely and well kept.

Please do consider though that this is a wooden construction chalet ideal for seaside

Location description from owner

The England region

Close to the chalet is Thorpe Park, offering all its usual facilities, and day passes can be purchased. Pleasure Island Family Theme Park is also located on the seafront at Cleethorpes, with its many wild rides giving a great day out for children and teenagers too. The area boasts a superb miniature steam railway, boating lake, golf course, great sandpit and play area, leisure centre, cinema, bowling alley and show arena featuring concerts throughout the season.

Cleethorpes

Cleethorpes centre is 2 miles away and has some great pubs, bars and restaurants, and of course with Grimsby next door has the best fish and chips ever. There is an old fashioned Pier, donkeys on the beach during the season, and hundreds of slot machines and arcades to complete the picture.

Sea View street in the centre of Cleethorpes is a lovely street with a great deli, clothing boutiques, super cook shop, soft furnishing shop and great gift shop too. Steel’s Corner house restaurant in Cleethorpes is an old fashioned restaurant serving the best fish and chips for miles around! A must to visit after a long walk on the beach. Anyone enjoying walking or cycling will find places right outside the front door, after all it is a conservation area.

CAPE COD CHALET is situated only 100 yards from the fabulous sandy beach, with views over the sea and the intriguing First World War Haile Sand Fort, which guarded the Humber Estuary from attack. Directly across the estuary is Spurn Point a well known nature reserve. The Fitties itself is also a nature and conservation area.

Superb chalet only a stones-throw from the beach. Ideal for kids and dogs. Well equipped kitchen. A perfect place to relax and spend time with the family.

“Excellent Chalet! Would recommend to all”

We stayed in Cape Cod over the August bank holiday 2012. The chalet is beautiful with lots of attention to detail, making it a delightful place to stay. The chalet sleeps 6 people and is very spacious. The bathroom and kitchen facilities are excellent. Very clean and tidy. The owner is very welcoming and was avaliable throughout our stay. Our family had a lovely holiday staying at Cape Cod. The location is excellent very close to the beach and park which was ideal for my 3 children. Would recommend to couples, groups and families. The property would suit everyone. Would love to return next year

“Superbly designed chalet and surrounds with attentive hosts and sandy beach a mere 50 steps away.”

We often use self-catering cottages but Cape Cod has to be the best! Wonderful sea vistas from the close-by sandy beach with a surprising array of wildlife that [even] included a local evening vixen. We had a few daytime family and friend visitors to share our christmas. All were enchanted by the design of CC; One even suggested that E Hemingway must have helped! We are very much looking forward to our return in August. .
