South Beer Farmhouse is a spacious Victorian stone property sitting within its own large private garden, located up a small track away from any roads and with access from the garden gate to Beer Mill Nature Trails - a private conservation and wildlife project - yet only a short drive from the North Cornwall coast with its safe, clean sandy and surf beaches.
South Beer is a large house with 4 upstairs bedrooms and flexible 5th bedroom or 2nd sitting room downstairs, fully modernised from the roof down to the ground over the last couple of years and provides high quality comfortable accommodation for a variety of guests from small groups enjoying out of season peace and quiet to large family holidays and weekend gatherings.
The owners live only a few fields away and are on hand to help with anything from booking your private chef service to great hints on the best places to walk your dog, from recommending local shopping and restaurants to active outdoor adventures of all kinds.
A wonderful character house with high ceilings, original features, big double glazed windows with fantastic views over fields and forests. Large private enclosed garden with small (covered) wildlife pond, garden furniture and plenty of room to play for children and pets or just to relax and enjoy the peace and quiet. An old house but with every modern convenience: 2 large flat screen tvs in separate reception rooms so everyone is happy, full central heating, underfloor heating to kitchen floor, kitchen fully fitted and equipped with electric range cooker, Miele fridge/freezer and dishwasher, extra laundry room facilities combined with downstairs shower and toilet.
South Beer sits in the middle of Beer Mill Farm - gold award winning since 2004 with Devon Wildlife Trust for working for the benefit of Devon's wildlife. Environmental considerations are discreet but make a huge contribution to the eco friendliness of this house - includes solar panels for hot water, super insulation, Farrow and Ball eco paints, eco friendly cleaning and laundry and use of organic bedlinen and every effort cut down on laundry.

The Devon region
This is a very special beautiful area not taken over by commericalisation and which can easily be reached by road but remains secret perhaps for the very reason that it lacks big business - instead a great range of exciting family friendly and outdoor adventures are hidden around every corner, the opportunity to enjoy the countryside and beautiful coast without spending a fortune and fill your lungs with very fresh air at any time of year.
There are safe sandy surf beaches, off road cycle trails, woods and moors to explore, outdoor challenges from abseiling and climbing to windsurfing and sailing, great relaxing quiet spots for all sorts of fishing and a range of golf courses to suit all pockets and skill levels.
Festivals are a part of our way of life from spring to autumn with real local village country fayres or the big county shows such as Royal Cornwal and Devon County, from folk festivals(Chagstock, Looe) to pop concerts (Eden project) and festivals (Leopallooza, Electric Beach, Boardmasters)to Bude Jazz festival.
This is farming and wildlife country - there are many local walks and wonderful Devon Wildlife Trust Nature Reserves to explore, historic castles and National Trust properties, unspoilt seaside and fishing villages to wander around - come and see for yourselves and you will fall in love.
