“Idyllic villa in beautiful surroundings”

Reviewed 18 Sep 2016

We spent a wonderful 10 days in this villa over the summer - and frankly had to tear ourselves away - the children cried when we left! The villa has been lovingly restored by Noelle, the current owner who has gone to great lengths to restore it to its former glory. It consists of 2 en-suite bedrooms in the main building, and a further en-suite bedroom in the Annexe - a second building from the same period just adjacent to the main building. It also has 4 terraces - each with its own individual character. Some of the things we loved about the villa and our stay were: the general attentiveness of Noelle and her team, dining al fresco in the terraces, the home made pizza oven, the swimming pool (perfect size for a family), picking fresh veg in the grounds, the trampoline, playing boules on the villa's own boules pitch, eating the fresh eggs delivered whenever we asked for them. There was just so many fabulous touches, including the full fridge/food cupboard containing food which catered to our specific dietary requirements, the treasure hunt for the kids, the Sunday Times and fresh baguette - I could go on and on. This really is a hidden gem. If it is available - snap it up!

“A perfect, luxurious retreat”

Reviewed 9 Mar 2013

We stayed for one week in this villa last year and I can't wait to go again. It truly is an amazing place! When we arrived we couldn't believe how luxurious this villa is! Two of the rooms have Jacuzzi baths and the other has an en-suite shower. There are 3 terraces which are beautiful and none are over-looked. To be honest it was nothing short of the set of a vogue photo shoot! Then there were all the extras that we weren't expecting like the little vegetable patch that we could pick fresh fruit and veg from, the pizza oven that was great fun and the paper and croissants delivered to your door on a Sunday. Noelle the owner is lovely, she was really helpful with recommending places and very generous in her stocking of the cupboards and fridges. The location is great, you are not over-looked and have beautiful views over the forests. A short 10 minute walk takes you to Claviers, where there are some lovely restaurant and bars we went to "La cley d'songe" twice because it was so lovely, to eat in the garden there and the food was fantastic. We are all 26-27 year-olds but this is the type of place that my parents would love as well as families with children. There are 10 of us this year on our annual trip, so we won’t fit this year but we look forward to returning soon.
