The County Londonderry region
Derry/Londonderry City lies snugly in the North West of the island of Ireland and is part of the UK. It is ideally situated being served by a local airport, train and bus terminal and an ever improving road network. Though the City is famed for its historic antiquities and vibrant cultural life it is also a perfect location from where to sample and enjoy regional attractions such as: the Giants Causeway; Glenveigh National Park; Downhill Beach; Mussenden Temple; Binevenagh Mountain; Roe Valley Country Park; Sperrin Hills; Royal Portrush Golf Club; and other interesting sites in County Donegal which is only 5 miles from Grove Place. Sites in Donegal include an amass of beautiful beaches; quaint towns and villages and modern vibrant centers such as: Letterkenny and Donegal Town.
The region is awash with activities to suit all including: horse riding; hill walking and rambling; water sports; cycling paths; dance; theatre; musicals; swimming; archery; 10 pin bowling; cinema; canoeing and many more.
City of Derry / Londonderry
Derry/Londonderry is reknowned for many things but three in particular: the genuine hospitality that comes springs effortlessly from the City's population; the craic an over abundance of historic antiquities. The hospitality shown by the people of the City to strangers and visitors alike has been and remains to be a hall mark. No one can remain a stranger in the City. The 'craic' simply means 'fun'. Derry/Londonderry has a historic and current love of and culture including: traditional music and dance; contemporary music and dance; classical music; theatre; pantomine and the many wonderful ad hoc theatrical one offs that emerge from the cultural melting pot. Having a blend of two main cultural traditions of Irish and Ulster Scots Derry/Londonderry is blessed with a rich and deep source from which cultural creativity is constantly renewed. The craic includes pub life and the easy association locals enjoy with the benefits afforded by sensible alcohol consumption and the company of like minded people. It would be unimaginable to spend time in Derry/Londonderry and not enjoy the experience.
The third major strand of Derry/Londonderry'sofferings is its amazing history and the numerous historic attractions: the Derry Walls; St Columbs Cathederal; St Augustines Church; St Columbas Church; The Apprentice Boys Memorial Hall; 1st derry Presbyterian Church; Free Derry Corner; the Fountain; the Bogside; the Tower Museum and many many more. It is a fact that by walking the Derry Walls and visiting the numerous excellent tourist attractions, history appears to come alive. Walking in Derry/Londonderry is like walking through history instead of being a spectator.

"Great location, very spacious accomodation"
The property was clean and nicely furnished. 7 of us stayed there and there was plenty of room. Great location in a quiet street right in the City Centre of Derry. Everything was provided that we needed, and the owner Maurice did everything to accomodate us including moving a bedroom downstairs and sourcing a wheelchair for my Nana who struggles to walk up stairs or any great distance. Would definately recommend.
Thank you very much for the very kind and positive review of Grove Place. If you are ever coming back for a weekend make sure you contact me so that I can help to sort you out with accommodation. Kind Regards Maurice Mahon
