The Western Australia region
The largest city on Australia's west coast, Perth offers fine dining, great entertainment and all the amenities you would expect from a vibrant and bustling Australian city. Some excellent restaurants are located within walking distance on the beachfront, offering an unforgettable dining experience. Australia is synonymous with swimming, and you can enjoy a dip in the heated Olympic-sized pool within walking distance of our property. A mere kilometre away, meanwhile, is Bold Park, a favourite place for bush walks.
The climate is hot and dry in summer; however, the so-called "Fremantle Doctor", a cool south wind, makes it easy to handle the high temperatures . Winter in Australia is a little bit like April in Europe, still quite warm but with more changeable weather and occasional rain and thunderstorms.
In summer time, Perth is a favourite destination for wind and kite surfers from all over the globe . Some activities to try in the surrounding area:
- Travel 90 km to Lancelin and enjoy the endless pure white of the walking dunes close to the ocean.
- Take a day trip to admire the eerie presentation of the Pinacels.
- Go to Yenchip, speak with the kangaroos and cuddle the koala bears!
- Travel 90km to York and visit a wonderful landscape and one of the last authentic country towns
- Travel to the waved rock and allow yourself to become transfixed by the magic stone wave, carved by the endless wind.
- Take a trip down South, visit the wineries , the biggest trees in Australia, and explore the wild romantic coastline .
- Spoil yourself with a dinner of unique crayfish in Albany, admire the 'stone gap, the blow holes, the whaling station, the old ships. Visit the most Westerly point in Australia in cape Luywin, where two oceans meet...Enjoy!

"Great location, lovely property, near to beach"
We spend nearly two weeks at the sunset studio and had really a great time. Bernd, the host, is really being helpful, charming and has great suggestions where to go and what to see to make most of your stay in City Beach as well as the Perth region. The garden is really lovely and perfect for dinig outside and getting the last glimpses of sun setting at the close beach.

"Excellent value, great location and charming host"
Sunset studio is perfect for the single traveler or a couple who do not want the sterile hotel experience. The studio is charming and equiped for cooking your own light meals. I chose to eat breakfast in and experience the great restaurants nearby. Perfect location for the beaches and a block away from a bus directly into the city. The host is charming and as a single female traveler, I felt perfectly safe and well taken care of. The grounds are beautiful, the garden invites lots of birds - a nice oasis.

"A little oasis"
I chose to stay in the sunset studio as it was in a very good area, very close to the sea (5 mins walk away), and on a bus route into town (30-40 mins) and I was not disappointed. The photos doe not do the studio justice - it is very light and airy and set in beautiful gardens which can only be described as a 'mini botanical garden'. I particularly liked the Balinese day bed where I enjoyed the view across to Rottnest Island most mornings whilst eating my breakfast - it was also a bonus having free wireless. Bernd was the perfect host, there when you needed him and respecting privacy at all other times.
