There is also ample parking at the apartment building. The clear seas of the Adriatic are a pleasure to swim in, the only thing to be aware of is the rocky sea bed. To make swimming more comfortable it's handy to have diving boots (which are on sale from local shops and stalls) or jelly shoes. There are some steep hills around the apartment so there is a bit of climb back up from both of the local swimming areas.

Location description from owner

The Dalmatia region

Occupying the central 375km of Croatia’s Adriatic coast, Dalmatia offers a matchless combination of blue skies, crystal clear waters, fantastic food, historical sights, gorgeous islands and vibrant cities and towns. The jagged coast is speckled with lush offshore islands that are part of the reason the region has become one of the world’s hottest tourist destinations. Roman ruins, spectacular beaches, old fishing ports, medieval architecture and historic cities make a trip to Dalmatia unforgettable.

Ciovo Island

Trogir The profusion of Romanesque and Renaissance architectural styles within 15th-century walls, as well as the magnificent cathedral at the town centre, inspired Unesco to name Trogir a World Heritage site. Located a mere 10km from Split airport, it is a gem on a par with Dubrovnik. The town sits on an island that is connected to the mainland by a bridge and the maze of charming cobbled streets within its medieval walls contain restaurants, shops, bars and ice cream parlours. Relax in the beautiful squares or admire the yachts that are moored on the seafront while drinking in the beautiful scenery. Ciovo Ciovo is located close to Trogir and is home to fantastic beaches, amazing views and wonderful amenities. The resort of Okrug Gornji has a stunning beach and there are plenty of great restaurants to choose from. Trogir can be reached on foot, by bus or by water taxi from the Okrug Gornji beach. The fabulous beaches in Dalmatia are, for the most part, pebble beaches so bringing waterproof footwear such as jelly shoes, crocs or diving shoes is recommended. These can also be bought in shops in the local area. Split Split is the largest city in the region and a hub for bus and boat connections along the Adriatic, as well as home to the late Roman Diocletian’s Palace. Nearby are the early Roman ruins in Solin (Salona). Zadar has yet more Roman ruins and a wealth of churches. The architecture on Hvar Island and Korcula Island recalls the days when these places were outposts of the Venetian empire.

“Fabulous holiday in beautiful Croatia”

Reviewed 14 Aug 2015

We've just come back from a fantastic holiday at Mavarcica Lane. Our children (6 and 4) absolutely loved the beaches and we swam in the sea for hours every day! We enjoyed the boat trips into Trogir and the local restaurants. Catherine was incredibly helpful and always quick to respond to any queries before we left and the pre-booked airport transfers were very efficient and easy. The apartment was very comfortable and in a great location, only a few minutes walk to a lovely smaller beach, close to the main beach and very near supermarket, post office, banks etc. The roof terrace had amazing views and we saw dolphins in the distance! We'd love to come back one day. Thanks Catherine so much for a wonderful holiday that we'll always remember.

Lovely apartment, perfect for our week away. Clean, modern, spacious, comfortable, well-equipped and conveniently situated for restaurants, beaches, ferries etc. Three singles stayed so bags of room for us. We ordered pizza in a couple of nights as it was so pleasant staying in on our lovely balcony, although loved all of the many restaurants we tried nearby.

“Amazing view!”

I visited Ciovo in August and stayed in this beautiful apartment with friends. The apartment is a short walk from Okrug beach which has lovely clear water, lots of sun loungers and plenty of places for lunch and drinks as well as the docking point for boats to Trogir and Split. The apartment itself was fab - spacious with all the facilities you could need, like a home away from home and really quiet and peaceful. There was plenty of towels and it was great to have beach towels and sun lounger cushions supplied as well. The best part was the balcony and the amazing private roof terrace with spectacular views over the sea and coast line. We had breakfast every morning in the sunshine on the balcony and evening drinks on the roof terrace...perfect! The owner was extremely helpful with the booking and provided us with a great local guide to trips and restaurants. She also booked our transfers for us which was so helpful and cheap (£15 for three of us from the airport to the apartment) and to top it off there was a welcome pack of bread, milk, cheese, ham and wine which was a lovely touch. I can't recommend this apartment enough if you want a great holiday in the sun with all the comforts of home...and of course a roof terrace!

“5 star Apartment with every home comfort”

Having just returned from Ciovo with Friends we stayed in Mavarcica Lane. The apartment is finished to a very high standard and they have spared no expense in ensuring stock of fresh towels and linen. Great Air con which is a must with the very hot temps. Great shower and comfy beds. The apartment is set in a beautiful location with an amazing view over the ocean and Okrug beach from the balcony. The roof terrace is really cozy, breath taking views and the owners have spared no expense with great cushioned day beds and furniture. We loved the welcome hamper, a really lovely touch. Cannot wait to return, one of the best apartments I've stayed in. Amazing value for money.

“Fantastic”

The apartment was gorgeous and very clean with a fabulous view out over to the islands. It was well equipped for us to make our own meals but also there are a number of local restaurnats in the area that we could walk to of a night. The apartment is an uphill walk from the beach but the view makes it worth it! It is the perfect location to get into Trogir and Split but also to have peace away from the hustle and bustle. The beach at the bottom of the hill is perfect for swimming in! Would defo recomment this apartment to my family and friends. Only down side where that the beds were very hard! Catherine was really helpful in our booking and supplying information before arrival and arranged airport transfers for us.

“Beautiful apartment with a beautiful view”

We had a really relaxed and enjoyable stay at Mavarcica Lane. The apartment is a short walk to the water and near the shops. The apartment is modern and tastefully decorated. Both rooms are spacious. We enjoyed the fact we could cook and eat on the balcony and take inth e dramatic and serene view on to the water. There's also the roof terrace that is huge and looks out on to the Adriatic. The flat is clean and all towels and bedsheets were to a very high standard. Our contacts were more than helpful and made our stay all the more pleasant. They speak several languages as well.

“Brilliant”

Lovely apartment. Ideal location as beaches, restaurants & shops all within easy walking distance and a 15 - 20 minute downhill walk to the water ferry over to the main land. The sun terrace is the real winner and if you are lucky enough to book the apartment next door at the same time, it is a truly lovely place to have a family reunion (plus you would then have the roof terrace completely to yourselves). The owner has really lucked in with Mr V and his wife Maria who provide the transfers from Split Airport and can also provide the transport for mini trips to the surrounding area, they are a lovely couple and very helpful. Owner was a joy to do business with and provides a very good welcome/information pack for visitors to the area.

“Lovely relaxing stay”

Reviewed 19 Jul 2012

Stayed here for week with friends at the end of May. We prebooked transportation, met on time and later on the trip the driver was able to take us anywhere we wanted for less than a local taxi and only a phne call to arrange. The apartment is lovely, modern and very clean. Roof terrace is amazing! Large roof terrace with tables and chairs and day beds, looking out to the sea. They have a barbecue aswell which is nice for self catering. A short walk to a supermarket, bakery and a few restraunts. Lovely italian at the bottom of the street which does takeways if you fancy a night in, and the apartment has sky and a selection of dvds. Apartment is nice and quite in the evening, although worth going into Trogir as its only a 15 minute walk, or you can get a bus, with plenty of restraunts and bars, and some of the boats in the marina are something else! Also worthwhile to take a day trip to island of Hvar, which is beautiful. The welcome pack was much appreciated when we arrived, everyone was very helpful. Had a lovely relaxing holiday in beautiful surroundings and good company.

“Lovely Appartment in relaxed setting”

Reviewed 27 Jun 2012

The lady who met us at the apartment was so friendly and provided us with a starter pack that included milk, butter, bread which was a lovely touch. We stayed in the apartment during June when it was still off season so the town of Trogir was quiet. I liked it this way as I was there with my wife. Trogir is a pretty wee town about 2 miles from split and there is a regular bus that takes you along to split if you fancy some nightlife. The apartment is nicely furnished and has a balcony and a lovely roof terrace. In the evenings there was nothing better than watching the sun set on the terrace with a beer in my hand. The coves where we sunbathed were about a 10 min walk away and were perfect as they provided privacy and direct access to the sea via step ladders. If you fancy a nice relaxed week away in a lovely apartment close to the sea in a town away from the bustle of Split this is the place for you. Split is only 2 miles away so if you fancy some nightlife but it always nice to get back to Trogir where it is not overrun with tourists.
