“Lovely”

Reviewed 6 Aug 2016

Myself, partner and teenage son stayed at this lovely cottage and what a treat it was. From the minute we walked through the door it was relaxing. Tea+chocolate biscuites greeted us after our long journey. The lounge has a log burner with logs supplied, lovely comfy chairs too, i liked the one by the patio doors, good for relaxing with a glass of wine+looking at the forest.Lots of useful things are supplied so saving on packing space.Very comfortable beds with extra blankets should it get chilly. The kitchen had more than i had in my own kitchen+quite large.Plenty of useful information is laid out, from where to get meals to places+bus times. The utility room is an added bonus if the weather is wet for muddy boots+dogs. Lots to see+do in the area, the only down side i can see is that for sightseeing you have to drive around alot. All in all a very well presented lovely cottage.

Thank you for your lovely review. We are really pleased that you enjoyed your stay in Sanders Cottage and found it well equipped and comfortable. Sanders Cottage is situated opposite woodland which is accessed by a wooden bridge a two minute walk from the cottage.Cycle trails can be picked up easily from the cottage if you bring your own cycles. The Forest of Dean is beautiful and we are so lucky that the Wye Valley is close by.There are buses but a car makes it easier to visit all the attractions available in the Forest of Dean and surrounding area. Thank you for taking the time to review us.We value feedback from our guests.

“Great forest accommodation!”

Reviewed 1 Apr 2014

Liz and Alan were extremely attentive landlords, providing a welcome basket and local information. We were visited by friends and family while there and Liz very kindly brought around crayons and paper and a dolls house. The cottage is in an excellent position complete with a sun balcony and has all necessary facilities to provide the perfect forest stay with or without dogs. My only disappointment, but quite understandable is that short stays are not available during peak season :( Highly recommended.
