Welcome to WOODLAND BARN our dog friendly holiday cottage in the heart of the Forest of Dean, Gloucestershire. Woodland Barn is set in a peaceful location on the horse-shoe bend of the River Severn taking in views of the surrounding countryside and woodlands below. This former stables and hayloft has been converted into a cosy split-level character cottage retaining many original features. Woodland Barn is a home-form-home, close to amenities and woodland walks, it is the perfect place to relax and re-charge.

Woodland Barn sleeps 4 (double and twin rooms) with two bathrooms. Both rooms have an uninterrupted view of the open fields and woodlands with the meandering River Severn in the distance. , a TV with freeview, oak floors and black out blinds with exposed beams, a wardrobe, chest of drawers, small mirror, bedside table and lamp.

A small staircase (7 steps) leads down into the modern Kitchen fully equipped for self-catering with exposed beams, quartz work surfaces, induction hob with grill / oven, dishwasher, microwave oven, washing machine / condenser dryer, slow cooker and coffee machine. We have included many home comforts throughout the cottage for your convenience.

Another small staircase (7 steps) leads down into an open plan living space with cosy chair and reading lamp, dining nook and lounge with comfortable corner sofa, SMART TV with all the channels including Netflix etc. There is a cupboard with a selection of books, board games, puzzles and more. Views from the french doors and windows are of the countryside, woodland and River Severn. There is underfloor heating throughout set to an ambient setting with electric radiators / fans for guests comfort.

French doors lead out onto a spacious patio with stunning uninterrupted views from the private terrace. There is seating with parasol and a coal BBQ. To the left there is an enclosed lawn area. The perfect spot to relax and unwind - have a family BBQ or that special meal just for two!

Private off-road parking is available on the paved driveway and is suitable for two vehicles.

We aren't just dog friendly we are dog welcoming.

We provide spare dog bowls and spare leads. We have a tap outside for washing muddy paws and provide dog towels. We leave some ID tags with I'm on holiday and our contact details. We provide a soft comfy blanket so your dog can lie on the sofa or in the cosy chair. We leave a welcome gift of dog bags and a small toy. We welcome up to 2 dogs to Woodland Barn and have an enclosed garden with lawn where they can play safely and a patio where they can sunbathe. Woodland. Walks are moments away perfect for doggy adventures.

We follow up with a text the day of their arrival and ask that our guests text us when they arrive. We are available throughout their holiday via phone, text or in person. We usually text on the day of departure just to wish our guests a safe journey home.

Why can't I call Zoe (the owner) before booking?

How do damage deposits work?

In most cases, you don’t pay a damage deposit up front. Instead, we save your payment details securely and you’re only charged in the event of damage to the property.

Occasionally, you will pay a damage deposit up front as part of the total rental cost. In this case, the owner has 10 days after you check out to report any damage. If they don’t, we’ll return your deposit. If their claim is successful, we’ll deduct the agreed cost and return the remainder.

How do I edit my booking?

You can request to change the dates or number of people on your booking via the Manage your holiday booking page. To change your holiday dates use the Edit booking button. If you need to change the number of guests staying then send Zoe (the owner) a message.

If Zoe (the owner) agrees, they’ll send you a revised quote outlining the changes. You can review and accept/decline this from the Manage your holiday booking page. You’ll have 48 hours to take action before the revised quote expires.
