The Lake Como region
Cima is a charming village with a selection of local amenities to help supplement your self-catering stay. The village enjoys close proximity to the vibrant resort town of Porlezza, just a 7 minute drive away. Porlezza is home to a wide variety of shops, supermarkets, cafes, restaurants as well as to a wide selection of family-friendly activities, which can be found at the Porto Letizia holiday park.
The cosmopolitan Swiss city of Lugano is situated just a 20 minutes drive away, and offers the perfect taste of city living by the lake. Guests will find fine dining, designer shops, charming cafe-lined piazzas, a wonderful promenade with ferry service, a buzzing night life and a wide variety of daytime activities to enjoy.
From Cima guests will also be able to reach the leisure pursuits and villa attractions of Lake Como, easily by car.
If you enjoy playing golf then a visit to the Lugano Golf Club which is only a few kilometres from Agno Airport, the golf club is located on level ground and displays the best possible views with it's splendid birch woods, oaks, pines, rhododendrons and azaleas, golf is enjoyed by many golfers despite the difficulty of this challenging course. The steady presence of water blockages and narrow fairways makes the course fairly challenging, as your playing your round of golf you should cross the Magliasina River almost 8 times, the course with it's shapes and designs demands you to resort to play a more powerful game with greater accuracy.
Lugano attracts people from around the globe for it's natural delights that present a fine mix of village and city, the town features among the holiday region in Switzerland and lives up to it's fame by offering plenty of leisure activities for it's guests, skiing is certainly one of them. Lugano is a fine spot for skiing with it's hilly areas, Skiing is best experienced on Mt. Lema which is just at few minutes drive from Lugano, Ticino also has fine skiing areas which are either in San Bernardino or Airolo (south of Gotthard pass), both ski areas can be reached in an hour by car, Andermatt is also a fine place for skiing.
Further Sports & Adventure Activities Include:
Bicycling, Bike Rentals, Boat Rentals/Charters, Canoeing/Kayaking, Fishing, Float Plane/Helicopter, Funicular Railway, Golf, Hiking/Trails, Park, Public Transportation, Public Villas & Gardens, Rowing Boats, Snow Skiing, Water Skiing and Wind Surfing.
The Italian Lakes are a little slice of paradise. Elegant ribbons of blue water stretch out ahead, folded into the sun-baked foothills, with a spectacular back drop of the snow-capped Alps.
Warming, inspiring and graced with natural beauty, the lakes are still a place to draw breath and wonder. Lake Lugano, oriented north-south, ringed by characterful old villages often wedged onto narrow beaches between rugged cliffs and water.
Those classic lake images of flower strewn balconies, Baroque gardens and splendid waterside villas can be found here in abundance. Dotted around and between the lakes are some of Italy's finest art cities, such as Milan, Verona & Bergamo.
