Description

The Barn is a magnificent country residence nestled in an idyllic rural location commanding breathtaking views over the open countryside and towards the sea and mountains beyond. This residence has been converted to a high standard from a medieval barn, which dates back to the late 1700's and retains a wealth of character features. The spacious and versatile accommodation comprises a kitchen/diner, magnificent living room with vaulted ceiling and mezzanines to both sides, bathroom, utility and lobby to the ground floor whilst the first floor provides three double bedrooms with Juliette balconies overlooking the living room, a single bedroom and shower room. There is also the bonus of having an adjoining annex, which offers a kitchen, lounge with spiral staircase leading up to a bedroom with en-suite, which has access to the main residence. Set in approximately 3 acres, the property is accessed via it's own sweeping drive which leads up to a substantial gravelled drive offering ample parking with a stone built double garage and well maintained lawned gardens all around boasting an abundance of mature trees and shrubs, raised flower beds and fruit trees. To the rear elevation lies a heated swimming pool, full length tennis court, courtyard with built in BBQ and decked terrace.

“Wonderful”

Perfect location and fantastic accommodation. The barn had plenty for our children to entertain themselves with with the pool and croquet lawn, as well as the tennis court. We had four children and six adults in comfort which included two sets of parents and grandparents who enjoyed the ability to have their own space in the Annex. We enjoyed time at the beach which was just 10 minutes drive away, also made use of the disc golf and pitch and putt facilities there. Close by supermarket made self catering very easy. We made use of the television once in the whole week when we had a movie night to watch Harry Potter, apart from that, I think our children forgot the television even existed. The property management team were great when the pool water levels dropped and immediately notified the owners who topped them up. The welcome pack of necessities was a wonderful joy at the end of a very long drive from the south coast when we arrived. The barn with great for children aged from six up to 10 years old with the younger ones enjoying the multitude of hiding places for hide and seek. I am registered blind and took my guide dog with me and there was plenty of space for her to exercise outdoors. All in all, a wonderful holiday.

“Lovely stay at the Barn in Chiwlog”

The barn is a lovely place to stay. We has a family of 12 stay there. 2 of which were toddlers and we were allowed to take our dog. Everyone had a fantastic holiday. There were lots to do at the Barn for all the family. The barn was well looked after and maintained. There was only one minor problem which we found was the cleaners arrived on the last day 20 mins before we were to leave and this put a bit of pressure on us. I like to make sure all is in order before I leave and felt I hadn't done this. But it was a great holiday and a lovely place to stay and I would highly recommend it.

“An excellent holiday location”

What a lovely place to stay. The location is great and there is plenty to see around the area. The pool was a bonus - I had early morning swims on my own and then the rest of the family used it later in the day. Our son, daughter n law and grandchildren enjoyed playing tennis and the lawn was a great place for the children to practice their football skills! We enjoyed meals outside and used the Mexican hotplate. We did find one or two things that needed a little bit of attention and we left a list for your attention. Jane Ashby
