The Paphos District
Cyprus enjoys Mediterranean climate, with long dry summers from May to October and mild winters from December to February.
As well as being the birthplace of Aphrodite goddess of love and beauty, the area is overflowing with spectacular archaeological sites, natural beauty and lovely beaches.
Pafos is a Unesco World Heritage Site and contains many places of architectural and archaeological importance such as the famous villas, amazing mosaics, palaces, Tombs of the Kings, theaters and forts.
The town has two areas which are 3km apart - Lower Pafos (Kato Pafos) is the main tourist area and Upper Pafos (Ktima Pafos) which is inland.
Kato Pafos has a beautiful little harbour full of yachts and every year the Pafos Aphrodite Festival is held here. Ktima Pafos has lots of museums and also many excellent restaurants.
There are many local small beaches to discover and excursions and activities are available locally including excursions to Troodos Mountains, quad biking, fishing, pony trekking, cruises, animal and bird sanctuaries, wine tasting etc.
The area is extremely beautiful and suitable for all ages, couples and families alike. There is the opportunity to do as much, or as little as you would like.
The property is situated on the Ikaria Village complex in Chloraka sited on the main coastal road between Paphos and Coral Bay and less than 1km from Tombs of the Kings World Heritage historical site.
The Tombs of the Kings area is within walking distance, where you will find an abundance of bars, restaurants, kiosks, snack bars and also internet cafe's. There are small beaches within walking distance and also at the back of local hotels, but the best sandy beach can be found a little further West at Coral Bay. There are plenty of watersports to do in and around Pathos, including the Waterpark which is also on the local bus route .
There is a bus stop within a few meters, with a very regular bus service operating three routes for a small fee (1 Euro). It is a 5 minutes journey on the bus into Paphos Harbour (Kato Paphos) which is a beautiful seafronted jumble of restaurants, jewellers, shops and bars, all dominated by the harbour and Fortress. Behind this area lies 'Bar Street' which is a lively complex full of bars and restaurants. Further inland is Upper Pathos which contains both modern shops and a charming local market. Travelling the other way from the Village is Queens Bay and Coral Bay which are both lovely large sandy beaches.
Paphos Golf Range and Acadamy is on the main road approximately half a mile away. The Acadamy opened in October 2009 and is the only free-standing driving range and academy in all of Cyprus, with unique characteristic of actual elevated greens protected with real sand traps up to two meters deep. Amazing set-up and facilities. Restaurant/bar/refreshments. Golf club rentals available. Golf lessons available. Brand new hitting mats and golf balls, breathtaking sea view on the west side and mountain view on the east side. Truly spectacular, a must see for all golf enthusiasts and amateurs alike.
Chloraka village is a few minutes walk away and is still traditionally picturesque and charming, but much less tourist focused, although you are guaranteed a warm welcome.

"Hassle free holiday with sun, sea, sand and sightseeing"
Apartment was comfortable with great views and had everything required for self catering. The pool was excellent and the tennis court was fine. It is only a short drive to Coral beach which is sandy, great for swimming and not overcrowded. The Apartment is in a good location for shops and supermarkets and for exploring the surrounding region. The Apartment comes with air-conditioning which is essential in August as it is very hot (just how I like it!). Cyprus is a great country to visit for sightseeing, the food is of high standard and the people are very friendly. All in all an excellent holiday in a beautiful part of Cyprus.

"lovely and peaceful"
Lovely and peaceful, well equipped apartment. Good views. Close to Tombs of the Kings. Carol, owner of apartment very helpful and friendly. A bit of a walk to restaurants and shops, might need car if not able bodied.

"Comfortable well equipped apartment"
We have stayed several times at Hera Gardens and have had very relaxing holidays. The house is very comfortable and very well equipped . It is very near bus stops into Paphos and going to Coral Bay with frequent buses all day and evening. There are eating places( although pavements don't exist!) within walking distance. The outside areas are in the sun at different times of day and the patio doors allow access to these areas. The swimming pools are excellent but lack of communal sunbeds and chairs round pool a minus. We are about to spend another 10 days in the sunshine at Hera Gardens and are looking forward to returning.

"Home from home with added extras"
I have stayed at Hera Gardens on two occasions. The apartment is spotlessly clean and perfect for that relaxing break you keep promising yourself. Pathos is a 5 minute drive, but there are shops, bar and restaurants within walking distance. The owners are a pleasure to deal with.

Nice apartment with views of the beach. Swimming pool on complex, car hire nearby, near local restaurants. Near to Paphos and Coral Beach. We had a quiet stressfree break but near enough to nightlife in Paphos if you wanted to be more energetic.
