Description

The Old Chapel has been tastefully converted from a former Gospel Hall dating back to 1838 into a 3 bedroom Cottage sleeping up to 5 people and is the new kid on the block! Being detached it sits in the middle of the quaint village of Chittlehamholt opposite the Exeter Inn renowned for its excellent food.
The Old Chapel is fully furnished to a high standard and the kitchen is very well equipped. We have off road parking to the front of the Property. Next door to The Old Chapel is Grange Holiday Cottages where we have 2 more holiday cottages and can provide secure off road parking if you prefer. There is a small lawned area to the front left hand side of The Old Chapel and an enclosed patio area to the rear of the Property leading out onto from the lounge. This is a secluded area ideal for a BBQ or a spot of relaxation and sunbathing.

Coast/Beach - The North Devon Coastline is an area of outstanding natural beauty with places to explore such as: Porlock, Lynton, Lynmouth, Combe Martin, Ilfracombe, Woolacombe, Croyde, Saunton, Barnstaple, Instow, Westward Ho!, Bideford, Clovelly, and Hartland all within 40 minutes reach by Car.

NOT forgetting Lundy Island which can be visited by helicopter or boat.

Golf - On the edge of the Village is the Highbullen Hotel, Golf and Country Club with a 18 hole golf Course, indoor heated swimming pool and state of the art fitness centre.
Saunton Golf Club has two 18 hole links golf courses which are considered to be two of the best in the South West. If golfing with your host the fees are approximately £30 a head for the day. Other Golf Courses in the area - Royal North Devon , Libbaton, Portmore and Tiverton.

Garden - For gardening enthusiasts on our own doorstep the well known television Gardening Expert Carol Klein approx 1 mile away.
12 miles away RHS Rosemoor Gardens near Torrington as well as several Garden Centres within easy reach.

Horse Riding and Fishing - There are many coarse fishing lakes and reservoirs available in the area.
Also, we have riding schools within 5 miles of us if you fancy learning to ride during your stay.

Chittlehamholt

Chittlehamholt is a pretty and peaceful village surrounded by unspoilt countryside of rolling hills and woodland. There are several lovely walks around the area and an abundance of wildlife to be seen including badgers, foxes, red deer, owls, woodpeckers, buzzards and many other birds. 7 miles away is our nearest town of South Molton with a range of shops, Farmers' Market and Pannier Market.

The Tarka Railway 2 miles away where there is free car parking and you can catch a train to Exeter and experience the beauty of the Devonshire Countryside or go the opposite way and take in the rolling hills and views as the train winds its way to the historic market town of Barnstaple.

Distances
Walking & Cycling Plenty of local footpath walks for those with dogs or ramblers who enjoy the countryside.The Tarka Trail stretches from Braunton to Torrington and further is an excellent cycling and walking track with estuary and sea views with the beauty of no hills and no traffic!
Explore the stunning landscapes and rugged moorland hills and tracks of Exmoor and Dartmoor.

Surfing - North Devon is renowned for it's excellent Surfing beaches at Woolacombe, Saunton Westward Ho! and Croyde.
Various indoor and outdoor adventure Parks in the area such as: Milky Way, The Big Sheep, Combe Martin Dinosaur and Wildlife Park,
Exmoor Zoo, Super Bowl.
