The Illinois region
Whether you're coming for a long weekend escape in the city, a vacation, a business conference, a family reunion or special occasion, Chicago is a terrific place to explore year round and our home puts in you a position to take advantage of the city's amazing network of buses and trains.
And for quick access to the Loop, the Art Institute, Millenium Park and the downtown theater district, we're only a few stops on the southbound Red Line; to LakeView, Wrigley Field, DePaul University, and other north side attractions, we're either a few stops on the Red Line or the #8 Halsted bus northbound.
Yet our laid back part of Lincoln Park, within steps of great shopping, is actually also quite "parkable", so if you are driving in, we're still an excellent choice with lots of free parking around the neighborhood, as well as pay to park options right across the street and, for those who book ahead, an optional indoor garage space in our building.
LOCATION LOCATION LOCATION
Our renovated former factory building is located on the edge of Chicago's Lincoln Park neighborhood - at the crossroads between everything. Step outside and turn left and you'll find yourself on Chicago's "little Michigan Avenue" - a hip urban shopping area with everything from burger bars and wood fired pizza to Apples and Mac, to the original trendy "box" furniture store Crate and Barrel, along with all of your favorite clothing stores. You'll find homemade bagels and locally brewed beer and world class theatrical performances at Steppenwolf Theater and the Royal George. Go east into Old Town for shopping and dining and lots of laughs at the original Second City and Zanies. Go west into hipster heaven: Wicker Park and Bucktown burst with boutiques and bars, dine al fresco, dine rooftop, dine on locally grown midwestern cuisine or food that spans the globe.
Whatever you choose, you'll dine well.
Feeling a bit Greek? If you're lucky we may just fire up the grill and prepare some souvlaki, but if you're wanting more just head south on the Halsted bus into Greektown, or beyond to little Mexico (Pilsen) or continue to Chinatown. Wanting to dance and not eat - Boystown is a quick bus ride north on the #8 ... Our neighborhood description would not be complete without mentioning the the train, the Red Line, will have you downtown in a snap, from our house your just a hop skip and ride to Chicago's world class museums: The Art Institute, the Museum of Contemporary Art, the Field Museum of Natural History, the Adler Planetarium, just to name a few...

"Amazing Chicago Loft!"
Carole & Basil's place is great! My group of 7 very much enjoyed our stay, and all agreed would gladly stay again. There is plenty of room for a large group- amazing kitchen complete with many amenities, spacious bedrooms and bathrooms, and a great open layout perfect for a group! The location is also conveniently close to the Red Line and walking distance from area bars and shops. Carole was a great host and was easily accessible at all times before and during our stay making it very stress-free for all of us. I will definitely look to stay here next time I find myself in Chicago. Thanks again, Carole & Basil!
