Description

Casa Grazia is a comfortable and spacious three-storey house in the beautiful, hilltop village of Chiaramonti, northern Sardinia. The house combines traditional Sardinian features like exposed-brick ceilings and wood-burning heaters, with modern conveniences like a contemporary bespoke kitchen, air conditioning, and British and Italian digital television. It has two bedrooms, a modern spacious bathroom, and two reception rooms, one of which is on the ground floor, the other being on top floor of the house with its own kitchenette. Casa Grazia has a large, sunny roof terrace, with a spectacular view, leading off the top-floor reception room. It is one of the few houses in the village with a substantial outside space, and this is what makes it so special.

If you are looking for a relaxing break in an authentic Sardinian village, rather than a tourist resort, then look no further than Chiaramonti. Along with its pastel-coloured houses and cobbled streets, it has all the amenities

If you are looking for a relaxing break in an authentic Sardinian village, rather than a tourist resort, then look no further than Chiaramonti. Along with its pastel-coloured houses and cobbled streets, it has all the amenities you will need, including three grocery stores, two butchers, a fishmonger, a pasticceria, a pizzeria/trattoria, a bar with free wifi, a bank with an ATM, and a post office. From the castle ruins at the top of the village there are stunning views of the beautiful, surrounding countryside. In the summer, the village swimming pool opens. The local people are very friendly and welcoming.

Chiaramonti is ideally situated for exploring the beautiful and unspoilt island of Sardinia. It is only 30 minutes from beaches, lakes and mountains. It is easily accessible from both Alghero and Olbia airports.

The Sardinia region

Sardinia is a large island with a wonderful climate and plenty to see and do. It has beautiful and varied scenery which includes lakes and mountains, as well as quaint towns and villages. It has a 1840 km coastline with over two hundred beaches to suit every taste all of which are renowned for their white sand, turquoise waters and cleanliness. This magical Italian island is a world apart from the Spanish 'Costas' and it is one of the Mediterranean's few unspoilt islands.

Within easy reach of Chiaramonti are the beautiful beaches of Costa Paradiso and Costa Smerelda, as well as the Lonely Planet Guide's # 1 beach in Sardinia, Spiaggia della Pelosa, which is near Stintino in the north-west corner of the island. On the west coast visit the beautiful towns of Oristano and Bosa, then experience the spectacular coastal drive up to the charming and bustling Catalan port-town of Alghero. Along the north coast there is a number of lovely coastal towns and villages, such as Castelsardo, Isola Rosa and Santa Teresa Gallura. A visit to the the gorgeous Maddalena islands, off the north-east coast, is a must. Inland, around Chiaramonti, there are several small towns and villages worth a visit, as well as the the large city of Sassari which has a wide range of shops, restaurants and other amenities.

Chiaramonti

Casa Grazia is in the historic centre of Chiaramonti - a beautiful hilltop village in the heart of the Sardinan countryside. It has narrow streets and cobbled lanes, and many of its pastel coloured houses hug the hills overlooking the valley below. At Chiaramonti's summit is the old castle ruin, which has stunning panoramic views.

As well as being beautiful, Chiaramonti is an authentic and traditional Sardinian town, not a faux tourist resort. The local people are very friendly and you will always be met with a "buongiorno" or "sera", depending on the time of day. It has all the amenities you will need, with three grocery stores, two butchers, a fishmonger (pescheria), a cheese shop, an ice cream shop (gelateria), a cake shop (pasticceria), a post-office and a bank with an ATM.

Lake Coghinas is close to Chiaramonti for relaxing and tranquil picnics with many, many more stunning beaches, lakes and mountains of Costa Paradiso easlily accessible in 25-30 minutes along with Costa Smerelda.
