“A home from home”

Reviewed 28 May 2013

Needing a break, and also obliged to visit family in Dorset, we booked Clockmaker's Cottage for the two of us and our seven month old son. It is a surprisingly spacious property, with absolutely beautiful setting. To the rear is a slow part of the River Wriggle - more a stream really - and beyond are pastures with the occasional nag munching on something verdant. Out front, you're just outside the village of Chetnole (like, about 50 metres outside), and it's a pleasant amble to the shop/pub/train station. The cottage has all mod cons, and it really was convenient for everything. We're hoping to return in September, when I'll be due another round of rellie catch ups, and we'll both be in need of some R and R. One tiny gripe: the wifi didn't quite stretch to the lounge, meaning I had to work at the kitchen table. But it seems almost churlish to mention that after such a comfortable and enjoyable stay.

“wonderful cottage”

My wife and I have just come back from a long weekend break at Clockmakers Cottage. The cottage has been furnished and decorated to a very high standard, is spotlessly clean and surprisingly spacious. The owners seem to have thought of everything and we have had a really relaxing stay. The woodland and river setting are beautiful and the evening stroll through the village to the local pub was delightful. Had lunch over looking the beach at the Hive beach Café in Burton Bradstock which was recommended to us by the owners, . lovely seafood. We would highly recommend this cottage and will be back in the summer.

“Peaceful Setting and Lovely Cottage”

Reviewed 21 Mar 2013

We stayed at Clockmakers cottage in August last year before the owners refurbished. It is a lovely cottage in a really beautiful setting. We loved just sitting on the terrace and watching the river and the wildlife. Although weather wasn't great we had some really good days out at Stourhead, Weymouth and Lyme Regis. We even took the local train to Bath. Our two children loved the woodland with tree swing and the playstation!. The owners were really helpful and very welcoming we would recommend this cottage and will be booking again.
