Description

Secluded Croft House is the house for all seasons

In winter, every walk over the hills and dales of Cheriton Fitzpaine in deepest Devon ends with a fireside chat among friends and family. Then in summer, this six-bed, 15-berth country house sheds its woolly jumper, pours a G&T and invites you to relax by its heated pool.

It's a party palace, with cellar celebration room and evening drinks under the stars in the lit-up gardens. It's a base for country walks, for quad-biking, paint-balling and go-karting. It's a jump-off point for fishing, sailing and horse riding.

It's a farm, with your breakfast eggs fresh from the hens and geese, and quince, greengage, gooseberries, figs, walnuts and fruit ripe for the picking.

Croft House overlooks the doomsday-book village of Cheriton Fitzpaine which is full of eleventh to fifteenth century houses. The village has two pubs-one of which hails from the thirteenth century- along with the longest thatched

Croft House overlooks the doomsday-book village of Cheriton Fitzpaine which is full of eleventh to fifteenth century houses. The village has two pubs-one of which hails from the thirteenth century- along with the longest thatched house in England. The village has a post office and there is an excellent farm shop nearby full of locally sourced high quality produce.

A short drive away is the historic market town of Crediton, ideally positioned for Exmoor and Dartmoor and only seven miles from the Cathedral city of Exeter.

In the summer it is not unusual to have a wide range of wild life passing through the grounds; badgers, foxes, deer, hares and squirrels.
