Description

Looking for a family beach vacation that offers a peaceful beach location and also close to Mayan ruins and the modern city of Merida, then look no further ! We offer a newer (completed December 2013) custom built (to North American standards), single storey beach house located on the Gulf of Mexico, 2 km from the fishing village of Chelem. The house offers three large bedrooms and will sleep six adults comfortably. The master bedroom has a king sized bed, is air conditioned, with a ceiling fan and walk-in closet. It has its own full bathroom, including large shower, double sinks and unique custom made bathtub area. The remaining two guest bedrooms each have a queen sized bed and are air conditioned, with ceiling fans and have their own en suite bathroom, with shower, sink and toilet. All toilets are paper friendly, European double flush systems. All bedrooms have large patio doors giving access to covered patio areas with seating and two of the bedrooms offer views of the pool and the Gulf. We have just installed a back-up 10kw Generac gas generator.

Main living area has an eleven foot ceiling for fabulous air flow from the water but is also air conditioned/heated with multiple ceiling fans. It offers comfortable sofas, a dining area that seats six together with a sit up counter for four. Flat screen TV with Shaw satellite, DVD and internet access is also available. The home is tastefully decorated with custom hand painted tile in the kitchen and bathrooms.

The house offers a fully equipped kitchen with a six burner gas stove, dishwasher, microwave and professional refrigerator, All water is drinkable, serviced by a pressurised softener/UV system with hot water on demand throughout. R/O system just installed in kitchen. Back-up system from well to municipal tank. Also included is a washer/dryer two-in-one combination.

The property has been professionally landscaped by a local garden centre. There are covered patios front and back of the property with outdoor fans and lighting. The property is completely secured with high walls/fences and the beach side of the house offers a very large covered patio facing the Gulf with a fantastic fully equipped filtered, fresh water pool with steps and handrail. This area has an outdoor shower and, one of the best stretches of sandy beach in the area is right outside the gate; safe for swimming and those long walks at sunrise and sunset. There is parking for two medium cars on the property within the secure gated walls. This home is pet friendly and offers a totally enclosed premises for your beloved pets. The property is also wheelchair accessible. All linens and towels are provided together with basic soaps, toilet paper and cleaning materials.

Although our rates are quoted weekly, monthly rates are available upon request.

This property is situated on the beach of the beautiful Gulf of Mexico. It is a great base from which to explore this culturally rich part of the Yucatan. Deep sea fishing and excursions to see Mayan ruins, cenotes and wild life preserves are also available in the area. .Just 10 minutes from the port town of Progreso and a short 8 lane highway drive to the Yucatan Capital of Merida - the "White City", where you can find a blend of the old and new from Colonial architecture to high end shopping malls and restaurants - we have it all !
