Description

A beautiful stone medieval house set in the lovely traditional mountain village of Chaumeil, La Source provides everything for a tranquil holiday. It is a lovely and cosy setting for winter holidays with lovely big log fires and frosty views across the mountains. It is perfect for families and for groups of adults. The house is full of charm, with a wood burning cooker in the beamed kitchen as well as a modern oven and hob for convenience. Enjoy your family meals at the huge old oak table and sit around the fireplace for cosy evenings. Or retire to the large salon where you will find a magnificent stone fireplace with it's original bread oven. Big enough to sit inside, the fireplace also had a large wood burning stove that you can light and sit around if it does turn a bit cool. The salon is tastefully decorated with antique furniture and many original paintings and prints. In summer you can eat outside on the gravelled terrace overlooking the gardens where children can play safely and there is a fabulous view of the church, the ancient Marie and the forests and hills beyond. A lovely spot for enjoying the long summer evenings. The village is like stepping back in time. There is a bar, dating from 1550 that serves food all day in July and August. There is also a more modern restaurant in the local auberge. Chaumeil is right in the Monedieres Mountain range in the Plateau de Millevache, an area of outstanding natural beauty. There are many walks and cycle paths direct from the village. Nearby is a fishing and swimming lake and at Treignac, just twenty minutes away, there is a lovely sandy lake beach. The nearest shops to Chaumeil are just five minutes away at St Augustin with its mini market, butchers and bakers as well a a supermarket, banks and pharmacy at Correze, 15 minutes drive away. All the major shops and stores can be found at Egleton, half an hour away. Please note we have extensive experience of house-hunting in the Limousin and will help with advice and information about locations and offer special prices for house hunters and economical rates for longer-term letting.

How do damage deposits work?
