Description

Welcome to our modern apartment which we hope will provide a great base for family and friends to unwind after a hard day's skiing, hiking or mountain biking. The accomodation provides a double and separate bedroom with two singles (plus slide out bed for a small child if required) with a bright and airy kitchen/diner and lounge with doors out to the corner terrace. The bathroom is bright with mountain views form the deep bath. In fact, the whole apartment is bathed in light and not overlooked.

Whilst the restaurant options on your doorstep and within a short walk are to be recommended, the apartment provides a nice environment should you want to stay in and relax over a glass of wine with friends or the latest movie on the tv/dvd player.

The apartment and area should appeal to a wide range of people from skiers and snowboarders of all abilities -Chatel has a very good beginners area in Super Chatel whilst the portes du soleil includes ski parks and runs of all colours

Equally, the area is a walkers, climbers and cyclists paradise and day trips to Lake Geneva, award winning spas and golf courses are within easy reach.

A 10% non-refundable deposit is requested at the time of booking. The final balance is due 4 weeks before the commencement of your holiday. In addition a £50 security deposit is required which will be returned provided the apartment is left clean and without damage. Payments can be made directly into our bank account, via internet banking, or by cheque (made payable to Mr C. Bullock).

Bedroom 1 with twin plus additional pull-out bed (suitable for children only). Bedside table and spacious built-in wardrobe. Bathroom with deep bath and powerful shower over, sink, bidet, WC and fine mountain views.
Well equipped kitchen with oven/grill, hob, fridge/freezer and breakfast bar. Living/dining room with large sofabed and solid wood table and chairs. Dual aspect windows. TV, DVD player and CD stereo. Ambient lighting. French windows out to balcony.

Towels and linen are not provided. Duvets and blankets supplied - please bring your own linen.

Further details outdoors

Take in the views with a chilled glass of rose in the summer or vin chaud in the winter whilst enjoying a bbq. The south facing aspect provides all day sunshine.

The Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes region

Forming part of the immense Portes du Soleil, a consortium of 14 ski villages ranging from the internationally recognized (Morzine, Avoriaz, Les Gets) to unspoilt hamlets, Châtel offers skiers and boarders access to 650 km of piste and 29 ski lifts.
There are more than 65km of footpaths in and around Chatel and over 300km of well marked trekking routes in the Portes du Soleil. Recommended is the Lac de Vonnes and the woods surrounding it, the meadows and farms lower down the valley. Stopping off at one of the many local farms or cheeseries to taste local produce is a must!

Mountain biking.
Chatel is a very popular mountain biking resort in the summer with over 24 lifts open giving access to 580km of marked cycle tracks in the Portes Du Soleil. Bikes and equipment can be hired from the nearby ski/bike shop 2 minutes away. Contact James at Vertical Horizons.

White Water rafting.
White water rafting is done on the river Dranse. A team of well organised and professional instructors will ensure that you have a safe but thrilling day out. While you are here you can also try canyoning, white water swimming, canoeing and paragliding.

Fantasticable.
This is unique to Chatel, there are 2 fantasticable lines stretching over Plaine Dranse. Open every day from March this is truly and incredible experience where you will reach speeds of up to 100 kmh.

Horse riding.
If you wish to see the mountains on horse back then this can also be organised through the local stables.

Sailing
We would also highly recommend a day trip down to Lake Geneva (Lac Leman) for a day's sailing. The nearest school is in Thonon-les-Bains (40 mins away).
