Residence Apartment Les Pins 3 is excellently located between Chatel centre (600m) and the ski/mountain biking area of Linga (700m). It has stunning views of the mountains and valley from the garden terrace which can be accessed from the living/dining room. There is a modern kitchen, 2 bedrooms, coin montagne 3rd room (ideal for storage and hanging/drying clothes), bathroom, separate WC, garage and ski locker. Wi-Fi is available. Excellent for mountain biking or skiing holiday accommodation. A garage with parking space in front is included for car and cycle storage.

Châtel is a charming Alpine village in the heart of the Portes du Soleil ski and mountain biking area. It lies on the border of France and Switzerland and is full of rustic charm. The lively village has a mix of traditional style chalets and hotels and is truly picturesque.

From Châtel you can be in France in the morning and in Switzerland in the afternoon! With the Dents du Midi and Mont Blanc in your sights. You can enjoy incredible skiing and mountain biking in the area of the Portes du Soleil, the largest cross-border ski area in the world. Chatel has a lively village centre with a wealth of activities for everyone to enjoy. Traditional Savoyard style restaurants line the main street in the village and there is a plentiful supply of bars for those interested in some après ski entertainment or welcome places for summer refreshment after a hard days biking. There are even a couple of nightclubs in town that will see you through to the small hours! Banks and supermarkets are also available in town.

Located between Lake Geneva and Mont Blanc, Châtel is just 20 minutes from the Swiss motorways, 1 1/4 hours from Geneva International Airport and 45 minutes from Thonon-les-Bains railway station in France and 35 minutes from Aigle railway station in Switzerland. There is a bus shuttle operating every Saturday between Aigle railway station and Chatel village. Taxi connections are available for all year round.

Mountain Biking

There is a multitude of exciting mountain biking opportunities throughout the Portes- du –Soliel with 23 lifts giving access to some of the most exciting mountain bike areas in the world, across the whole of the area, with basic and difficult routes all well signed. There is also a Bike Park constructed for the sole use of mountain bikers at nearby Pré-la-Joux accessible using the ski lifts. This park has circuits to suit all levels.

Walking

Chatel provides wonderful Alpine walking for peopleof all ages and experience, with teleski access to well signed circular walks with stunning views .

Skiing

Comprising 12 linked resorts on either side of the border and 650km of pisted runs and snowparks the Portes du Soleil is the largest linked ski domain in Europe. From Châtel you can directly access and ski between the resorts of Avoriaz, Morzine, Les Gets, Morgins, Champéry and more. If you're someone who enjoys a full day of skiing it is possible to start your day in Chatel and do a full circle of the area without doing the same run twice. There is also the new lift connecting Super Chatel with Linga making the local slopes and region even more accessible.

The ski area enjoys exceptionally good snowfall from mid-November to the end of April, with an average of 7m83 of powder every year.

As well as the plentiful skiing on your doorstop you can also enjoy some outdoor skating at Lac Vonnes, dog-sledding, snow-shoe excursions or the bob-luge at Pre la Joux. If that all sounds a little too energetic then you could head down the valley and relax your aching muscles at the hot springs at Lavey les Bains. The area is surrounded by beautiful and inspiring mountain vistas, from the local ranges of the Dents du Midi and Dents Blanches, down to Lake Geneva. Further to the south the majestic summit of Mont Blanc dominates the horizon.

There is also a Eurostar service operating from London St Pancras to Geneva -this connects with a train from Geneva airport to Aigle and the shuttle bus from Aigle to Chatel.

How do damage deposits work?

In most cases, you don’t pay a damage deposit up front. Instead, we save your payment details securely and you’re only charged in the event of damage to the property.

Occasionally, you will pay a damage deposit up front as part of the total rental cost. In this case, the owner has 10 days after you check out to report any damage. If they don’t, we’ll return your deposit. If their claim is successful, we’ll deduct the agreed cost and return the remainder.

You can request to change the dates or number of people on your booking via the Manage your holiday booking page. To change your holiday dates use the Edit booking button. If you need to change the number of guests staying then send Liz (the owner) a message.

If Liz (the owner) agrees, they’ll send you a revised quote outlining the changes. You can review and accept/decline this from the Manage your holiday booking page. You’ll have 48 hours to take action before the revised quote expires.
