A delightful one bedroom ski apartment with curtained coin montagne (bunk beds) and sofa bed in the living room. The village of Chatel is in the popular Abondance Valley and has been graded 3 fleurie. Primarily a low rise working alpine village, Chatel is also an increasingly popular ski destination and is equally popular with cyclists and walkers in the summer. The village is also within easy driving distance of the 4 fleurie village of Evian on the shores of Lake Geneva.

The apartment is classed as a large 1 bedroomed apartment and is suitable for up to 6 sharing. On entering there is a double bedroom, bath/shower room and separate wc. The coin montagne is large and built bespoke. In the living room there is a separate double sofa bed and complete kitchen. Over the last 7 years the apartment has been tastefully decorated to create a traditional alpine chalet atmosphere. Outside there is a large balcony with domineering views along the Abondance Valley and over the village of Chatel. The apartment comes complete with a ski locker and its own underground garage.
Rent is normally Saturday to Saturday (depart by midday) but this may be open to negotiation. A Deposit of 25% of the rent is due in advance to confirm the booking, then the full rent as shown above is due four weeks before rental date (total of 125% of cost), the keys will then be sent to you. The 25% deposit will be returned on return of the keys assuming the apartment is left in perfect condition.
As this is a home that we are renting I am afraid that no Smoking is allowed inside the house.
There are duvets and pillows in the apartment. Linen is avaiable in the village but if driving we recommend taking duvet and pillow covers. Apartment is to be left at a standard of cleanliness that make it suitable for immediate re-occupancy by other tenants. From 2013 we will be advising clients to use our checkout cleaning service at a cost of £60 in addition to the rental price.
The Rhône-Alpes region
Portes du Soleil is the largest Ski Domain in Europe. It includes the French resorts of Morzine, Avoriaz, Les Gets and Chatel as well as the Swiss resorts of Champery, Les Crosets, Morgins and Val d'Illiez.
The Vonnes area includes the village lake. The village has ample nightlife, some very good restaurants and shopping. Importantly, the village is not a classic purpose built high rise French resort. Its working background mean that it retains the rustic alpine charm and its proximity to Switzerland means it is has a classic Alpine meadow feel.

"Great little apartment, perfect for 1-4 people."
This is a great little apartment for short to medium length trips (my stay was three weeks). It has everything you would need to cater for yourself including kitchen appliances. The decor is very French, but then so is the decor in most of the places I have stayed in Chatel! The living area, which has the kitchen as part of it, is very spacious with a nice size dining table and a sofa-bed (for the 5th and 6th persons). The main bedroom, though only slightly bigger than the double bed it holds is perfectly functional. It is incredibly dark in there when you close the shutters and bedroom door! The hallway, where the drop down bunk-beds are located, has plenty of room, especially when the beds are folded upright out of the way. I feel with the full six people staying here it would be slightly cramped, but for a group of up to four it is brilliant. It's worth noting this apartment is located on the top floor of the rear block, so is a bit of a walk from the front of the building, but there is a lift so this isn't really a problem. Overall this is a fantastic property located 5-10 minutes walk from the centre of Chatel, also serviced by one of the many free bus routes. I highly recommend this property to anyone looking for a short break to Chatel.
