Kiboko Gîte - 6 people, 2 bedrooms, 1 bathroom

Kiboko is the Swahili word in Kenya meaning Hippopotamus.

Like the Hippopotamus, you can not appreciate it’s size until you see the whole thing.

Kiboko Gite can cater for six people maximum and is perfect for bringing your family and friends. The main bedroom can comfortably sleep 4 people if the pull out bed is also used. Main bedroom: 1 x double bed (190x140) plus 1 x pullout bed (190 x 90 – a single bed with a pull out bed underneath). The second bedroom sleeps 2 people - please note it is a loft conversion(low ceiling): 1 x double bed (190x140).

The Gite comprises of a lounge, a fully fitted kitchen, two double bedrooms with the bathroom and toilet situated in the main double bedroom.

There is electric heating throughout the Gite.

Equipment for children is provided; high chair, travel cot, etc.

With the log fire in the lounge, an initial supply of logs are provided and additional logs can be purchased on-site.

WIFI is available (please bear in mind, we do not have fibre and we are in the countryside), there is also a signal booster providing mobile signal and 3G for most operators.

For the months of July & August, there is a small swimming pool onsite (3m x 2m x 0.75m).

Additionally, there is a garden patio set on the outskirts of the lake area, with a childrens’ play area.

On-site, there is a small fishing initiation pond for children, fishing equipment can be hired.

A perfect place to keep the kids amused whilst the parents relax and soak up the sun.

There is also Lac de Saint Pardoux, 15 minutes drive, a 330 hectare man made lake with 3 beaches, an indoor and outdoor swimming pool with water slides, a wellness area, facilities for water sports and a rope assault course in the trees.

There is a selection of DVDs, books and board-games on request.

Pets are only accepted with pre-authorisation from the owner at the time of booking, dogs only - 20€ per dog.

The gite is not accessible to disabled people with reduced mobility.

Tourist packs with leaflets and brochures for the surrounding area, including places of interest, restaurants and local events are provided in the Gites.

Breakfast and Evening meals can be catered for, please discuss directly with the owner.

We have put new measures in place to protect the health and safety of our clients that prevent the spread of Covid-19 with recommendations from the CDC (Centre for Disease Control and Prevention). There is a specific COVID-19 section on the Owners website. On arrival, “sworn statements” will be signed by both parties, confirming state of health of the homeowner and the guest. The host will be on-site to Meet and Greet you and will go through everything. The Gite Keys and WIFI codes will be provided on arrival. Any questions/ queries or any guidance you need - the host will be there to help.

How do damage deposits work?

In most cases, you don’t pay a damage deposit up front. Instead, we save your payment details securely and you’re only charged in the event of damage to the property.

Occasionally, you will pay a damage deposit up front as part of the total rental cost. In this case, the owner has 10 days after you check out to report any damage. If they don’t, we’ll return your deposit. If their claim is successful, we’ll deduct the agreed cost and return the remainder.

How do I edit my booking?

You can request to change the dates or number of people on your booking via the Manage your holiday booking page. To change your holiday dates use the Edit booking button. If you need to change the number of guests staying then send Kiran (the owner) a message.

If Kiran (the owner) agrees, they’ll send you a revised quote outlining the changes. You can review and accept/decline this from the Manage your holiday booking page. You’ll have 48 hours to take action before the revised quote expires.
