Description

A beautiful villa in West Burgundy, close to the wine centres of Sancerre and Pouilly and the mediaeval towns of La Charite and Nevers. It provides flexible and comfortable accommodation over 2 floors with three modern double bedrooms and one with two single beds. There is a large reception area, a spacious and homely kitchen and two modern shower rooms. There is a good sized in-ground swimming pool with generous areas to sun available in the summer. The house occupies part of 7,500 sq metres of grass and trees. One can walk from the front door to buy freshly baked bread and groceries whilst enjoying the extremely peaceful solitude and broad landscape of the countryside. Nearby, there are rolling hills and forests. This is a wine drinkers paradise set in rural France. A complimentary bottle of French wine will be provided per stay. The house is within 9 miles of the Pouilly Fume vineyards and 18 miles to Sancerre, the River Loire and the many small medieval towns that surround it. To the east, within an hour's drive, lies the Morvan National Park, Verzelay and the Chablis vineyards. The Rhone Valley is witin 2 hours' drive and the Alps are a 5 hours away. Paris is easily accessible by car and train in 2 hours. Paris Orly is the nearest airport and the Channel Tunnel is a 5 hour drive. NB: There is an attached owner's flat, with its own entrance which may be occupied from time to time.

“Loved the farmhouse - would definitely recommend it to all groups small or large!”

We were a group of 7 plus 1 child getting away for week and we loved it! Our stay was so comfy. The pool was a highlight - crystal clean and safe too for toddlers. We stayed during a heat wave of 35 degrees Celsius so we made use of the pool to stay cool. The BBQ was a great option for cooking up tasty meals brought from the weekly market in the village. Communicating with the owner was very easy and any additional queries such as furniture for babies were resolved straight away. The house handbook is great! We used it daily for local recommendations including lovely local french farmhouse restaurants which were great value. Being so close to Sancerre is a real bonus too! On rainy days I can imagine you can easily stay occupied indoors with access to netflix, excellent wifi and lots board games to keep you occupied!
