“Wonderful village, comfortable home, amazing views!”

Reviewed 11 Jun 2017

Our family stayed here and we really enjoyed it. We had everything we needed. Loved the little fireplace! The home was in a great location right in the village. A quick walk to the Cooperative for anything you might need, plus the pub Wainwright's served delicious food and we were there on trivia night which was loads of fun. The views were spectacular and we would definitely return again. After visiting Windermere, we were so glad that we stayed in Chapel Stile as it is so much more relaxing and quiet, away from all the tourists. I highly recommend this place.

“You can't fail to relax!”

We had a fabulously relaxing weekend. The accommodation was perfect, clean & cosy with everything you need to shut the world out for a few days. The village and surrounding area is beautiful & tranquil and gives you a taste of the real lake district - we will be returning in 2014.

“Very comfortable cottage in a lovely village with all you need, shop & pub.”

Reviewed 14 Apr 2013

We stayed at the cottage for the second week of the school Easter break 2013. Not being too familiar with the Lake District we were very pleased to find that Chapel Stile was the perfect location to explore although you wouldn't really need to go too far as the village has a very pleasant pub and well stocked local convenience store (Co-op) that even sells walking goods and has its own cafe. The cottage is split over three floors and although apprehensive about there being no mains gas (therefore no gas central heating) we were warmer and more cosy than at home - really! The scenery that is on the doorstep is quite spectacular and sheep grazing on the front lawn was a regular morning feature. This is a clean and well presented cottage in a fantastic central location.

A very good property in a fantastic location. The property has all you need and is in a beautiful location with a well stocked village shop and excellent pubs nearby.

“Perfect location, perfect for families”

Reviewed 7 Apr 2013

This lovely cottage had everything we needed. Comfy beds (including bunks which the kids had a hoot with), kitchen with dishwasher, sun porch, friendly local coop shop. The location is perfectly central to the Lakes, and we saw Beatrix Potter, Coniston etc, nicest walk though was under our noses Skelwith Bridge to Elterwater along a stunning riverside.

“Good accommodation with a lovely view”

Reviewed 31 Jul 2012

The house is very comfortable and the living area is larger than it appears in the photographs. The kitchen has everything you need, the living area is a good size and includes basic Sky channels for rainy days! The patio area out the front is lovely. The bedrooms were very comfortable. Just a short walk to a very well stocked shop and cafe, and just a short drive to Ambleside which is a lovely town. The owner is very friendly and most helpful.

“Lovely accommodation in superb location”

This accommodation is in a superb location for visiting the Langdale fells and the surrounding area. It has excellent view across the Langdale fells. The accommodation is comfortable, good value for money and within walking distance to a village shop and pub.

“brilliant location for walking”

What a gem of a find. Everything you could want for a weeks holiday in lovely surroundings. Memory foam beds were lovely and comfy. Decorated to a high standard and everything we needed in the kitchen area. Cant wait to come again.

Owner's reply: HI Thanks for the review - don't suppose u would do one for Birch Cottage???
