Description from owner

Description

Apartment Arnica sleeps four people with Alpine-style twin and bunk beds in the bedroom (the zip-up twin beds can become a proper large double bed). For a night or two it is possible to sleep an additional two people on the twin sofa beds in the living room. The shower room has a bright and fresh feel and includes a heated towel rail.

The living area has a kitchenette which includes a fridge, oven, four-ring hob and electric kettle. Two large picture windows offer stunning views of the Chamonix valley and its northern mountain range, as well as of our little woodland where you might catch sight of deer in the early hours of the morning.

Staying in Arnica gives easy access to the communal terrace and meadow where in winter children and grown-ups alike can be found sledging down the former piste. As soon as the snow has melted the barbecue and outdoor picnic tables are available to all our guests.

Arnica benefits from a boot dryer as well as its own outdoor ski locker

Location description from owner

The Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes region

Chamonix has been on the Alpine tourist map since the 18th century and continues to wow its visitors with the majestic Mont Blanc dominating this beautiful valley.

Chamonix has a fantastic range of slopes to suit all skiing and snowboarding abilities and some of the best off-piste skiing in the world. It also offers cross-country skiers some lovely areas to explore, with or without skins.

In summer you will be spoilt for choice of hiking, biking, rock climbing, mountaineering and more. The sightseeing will also keep you busy with museums, a pretty town centre to discover and mountain lifts taking you as far up as 3842m at the Aiguille du Midi, if you have a head for it!

A bientot!

Chamonix

The Chalet Beaumont apartments are situated in the quiet hamlet of Le Mont, just above Les Bossons, between the village of Les Houches and Chamonix town centre, which are both five minutes drive away. The chalet's views of the mountains and valley are stunning and take your breath away every time you see them...

The distance by car from Chamonix's ski lifts are as follows:

Brévent, in Chamonix town: five minutes

Les Houches: 10 minutes

Flégère: 15 minutes

Grand Montets, in Argentière : 20 minutes

Le Tour: 25 minutes

Walking down from the chalet there are three local restaurants: Le Tremplin, La Cremerie du Glacier and l'Hôtel Aiguille du Midi; all are a 5-15 mins walk from Chalet Beaumont. The first two offer good local fare whilst l'Hôtel also offers fine dining. There is also a bus stop 10 minutes away, just opposite La Cremerie du Glacier. The bus will take you into Chamonix town and to the Flégère, Grands Montets and Balme ski lift.

Going up from the chalet, you can enjoy a 45 minute hike up to a viewing platform overlooking the glacier and if you peer hard, you may see ice climbers risking life and limb amongst the awesome crevasses and pyramids of ice. There is also a chair-lift which opens in the summer season taking visitors from the valley floor directly to the viewing platform and the Buvette du Glacier des Bossons, a pleasant café where you can get a drink and a snack whilst enjoying the stunning views.

Continuing on, now a more serious route, you will eventually come to the junction of the two glaciers, Bossons and Taconnaz, where you can marvel at the spectacular views of Mont Blanc's ice falls. Some of the most famous hikes in the valley begin on our doorstep and indeed the first ascent of Mont Blanc, by Jacques Balmat and Doctor Paccard, started from our hamlet in 1786.

We look forward to welcoming you soon!
