From the owner

Quinta de Agriboa is a former farmhouse, built in the late 18th century, which has been beautifully and sensitively restored. The Quinta is surrounded by hectares of vineyards in a beautiful valley that catches the sun from dawn until sunset.

All of the original building has been preserved with restorative stonework that perfectly matches the old walls. The year-long restoration project was filmed for a series of BBC documentaries, broadcast in spring 2009, where the programme makers commented on the "breathtaking skill of local craftsmen".

We have a local agent who welcomes all guests to the villa and gives them a tour of the facilities. Sergio also provides excellent travel directions for guests who are arriving at the airport. He gives all guests his mobile number and email and they can contact him at any point during the holiday. Sergio and his wife Diana, who runs a travel agency, can also help organise trips and activities or book tables in local restaurants. They can also book a local cook who will come to the villa to prepare and serve a traditional Portuguese meal. this is a highlight for many families.

House rules

This house is perfect for families and large groups. We ask guests to smoke outside on the deck. The villa has tiled flooring throughout and we know that glasses and crockery will break if they fall onto the floor. We respectfully ask for breakages to be replaced. The villa is about 1000 metres from the nearest neighbour so there is no issue with late night noise.

How do damage deposits work?

In most cases, you don’t pay a damage deposit up front. Instead, we save your payment details securely and you’re only charged in the event of damage to the property.

Occasionally, you will pay a damage deposit up front as part of the total rental cost. In this case, the owner has 10 days after you check out to report any damage. If they don’t, we’ll return your deposit. If their claim is successful, we’ll deduct the agreed cost and return the remainder.

Go to Manage your holiday booking to cancel your booking. Here you can view your cancellation policy to see if you’ll be refunded.

How do I edit my booking?

You can request to change the dates or number of people on your booking via the Manage your holiday booking page. To change your holiday dates use the Edit booking button. If you need to change the number of guests staying then send John (the owner) a message.

If John (the owner) agrees, they’ll send you a revised quote outlining the changes. You can review and accept/decline this from the Manage your holiday booking page. You’ll have 48 hours to take action before the revised quote expires.
