The apartments are arranged around a stunning first floor piazza, a tranquil and private tree lined oasis with seating and magnificent views of York Minster.

Stonegate Retreat is a newly refurbished, 2 bedroom 2 bathroom apartment with 2 balconies and is situated on the 2nd (top) floor of the development. The apartment is a two minute stroll from York Minster, Bettys Café, Stonegate's shops, bars and restaurants and a ten minute walk from York train and bus station.

The spacious lounge has comfortable seating for 5, a double sofabed and a corner window complete with swivel chair providing fabulous Minster views.

There are double doors opening onto a small balcony also with Minster views, perfect for enjoying a cup of coffee in the sun or a glass of wine!

There is a 40 inch LED Smart TV with complimentary Internet access and wireless keyboard, Blu Ray player and an IPod docking station/radio. Free WiFi is provided.

The dining area provides seating for 5 and the kitchen is fully equipped with dishwasher, washer/dryer, fridge/freezer, oven/hob/microwave, kettle, toaster, cafetiere and coffee maker.

A steam iron and ironing board is stored in the hall cupboard if needed and all standard cleaning products are supplied.

A complimentary bottle of Prosecco and tea/coffee/sugar/milk is provided.

We are happy to organise celebratory champagne, cakes, flowers, chocolates etc, any of which can be supplied at cost – please just ask!

The large master bedroom has a king size bed with crisp white bed linen, ample storage, dressing table, full length mirrors and a hair dryer. There are double doors to a Juliette balcony.

The ensuite shower room is equipped with heated towel rail, magnifying mirror, supersoft Egyptian cotton bath sheets and locally sourced organic toiletries from the Yorkshire Soap Company.

Bedroom 2 has a double bed with crisp white bed linen, ample storage, full length mirror and hair dryer.

There are double doors leading to a balcony with seating for 2 plus table – a real suntrap in the afternoon and evening and a wonderful place to relax after a busy day's sightseeing!

The adjacent house bathroom has an over bath shower, heated towel rail, magnifying mirror, supersoft Egyptian cotton bath sheets and locally sourced organic toiletries from the Yorkshire Soap Company.

Terms and Conditions:-

No Smoking - For the comfort of all of our guests, the apartment, balconies, indoor and outdoor communal areas are all strictly non-smoking.

Pets - Unfortunately, we do not accept pets of any kind.

Access - A lift (elevator) is available at street level up to the piazza level. The apartment is located on the 2nd (top) floor of the building and is accessed by a short flight of stairs from the piazza level.

Arrival and Departure - The apartment is fully available after 3pm (15:00) on the day of arrival.

To allow us to clean and service the apartment properly, please vacate the apartment by 10.00am on the day of your departure.

Subject to availability, we are happy to bring forward the arrival time or extend the departure time, so please just ask! Our meet and greet service will assist you with your luggage.

Children - With regret, due to balcony access we cannot accept children less than 8 years old. We welcome children over the age of 8 but they must be supervised at all times whilst on the premises.

Environment - The apartment is in a small and exclusive residential building. Guests are respectfully asked to show consideration in keeping noise and disruption to a minimum and to be mindful of other residents, especially after 11pm.

The piazza should not be used for social purposes after 9pm.

We do not accept bookings from hen or stag parties or large single gender non family groups.

We reserve the right to deny access to the apartment and/or to curtail your stay if the above conditions are not respected.

In any such event, all monies paid will be forfeited and no compensation given.

Car Parking - Please advise us when booking if you require parking. We provide one “City of York” parking permit valid in most city centre car parks throughout your stay.

The closest car parks to the apartment are Esplanade, Marygate and Gillygate. Each of these car parks is a 5-10 minute walk from the apartment along riverside paths, the museum gardens or through historic streets!

The use of car parking is at your own risk – we cannot accept liability for loss or damage to your vehicle and its contents. The parking permit must be left in the apartment at the end of your stay otherwise you will be liable for subsequent guests' parking charges and permit replacement costs.

“Best Apartment in York, Quality, Location, Attention to detail.”

This apartment is in the city centre yet in a very quiet secure location, it's a Gem! It has every amenity you could need and the supplied quality provisions are a nice touch... All rooms are of an excellent standard and every device you could need and more, this is a true home from home experience. I am hard to please and set high expectations, I have stayed in a number of apartments both inside and outside the city walls and can honestly say that this is the top by far. You will not be disappointed in any way. From the booking process to the follow up after the holiday the communication with the owner was excellent. We are already looking forward to planning a re-visit in 2016 and I won't need to be researching apartments... Stonegate Retreat is the only one !

The apartment is in a central location but is very quiet. It is very spacious with quality fixtures and fittings. The goody basket provided is also very welcome and welcoming. We would highly recommend a stay here for anyone visiting York.

Stonegate Retreat was the best accommodation we had during our entire stay in the UK. Beautifully newly decorated, all the amenities and more you could ask for, stunning view of the Abbey, quiet and centrally located. Communication with the owner was topnotch, from when we booked until the day we left. I would highly recommend this apartment to anyone going to York. We will return.

Located in the pedestrian centre of York - totally secluded courtyard (such a surprise in a bustling city) with great views of the cathedral this two bedroom apartment has superb facilities for our family of five adults - lovely sized rooms, tastefully decorated with every amenity you would need and for the Christmas holiday some lovely touches provided to make our stay so very special. Beautifully clean and presented - well fitted bathrooms (en suite the family bathroom) which made it a real pleasure to host a family stay. We couldn't recommend it more highly...

We were well looked after before our trip by the owner and were not disappointed by the property which was clean spacious and modern. It is very central and Betty's tea shop can be seen from the front door of the apartment block not to mention views of the Minster from the apartment (it is just a few minutes walk away). Worked well for our elderly mothers but would suit any age group of family or friends. Good to have parking permit for local car park. Highly recommended.

Stonegate retreat was fantastic! It was in a perfect location, close to all attractions, yet away from the street so quiet for sleeping. Catherine was great, incredibly welcoming, allowing us to check in early and leave late. Having the parking permit was also great. The apartment was incredibly clean and bright with an excellent view of the Minster, one of the best places we have stayed on our 8 week tour of Europe.

We had a great weekend in this beautiful, comfortable and well equipped apartment. Catherine was most welcoming and has made sure that everything is of a very high standard. The apartment is extremely well situated for exploring York on foot (although a parking permit is available for visitors) and provides a relaxing, quiet haven when you return from the hustle and bustle of the city. The view of The Minster from the courtyard is certainly a 'wow factor' as it was totally unexpected when you walk in from the street! Part of this view can also be seen from the lounge (room and balcony), and the sunrise over The Minster on Sunday morning was a delight to see. We would definitely stay here again and have no hesitation in recommending Stonegate Retreat to family and friends.

This is a fabulous place to stay in York. The apartment is immaculate and spacious with views over the Minster.It is very central yet quiet and perfect for all the sights of York.The apartment has been beautifully furnished and care has been taken to ensure everything you could need has been thought of .We would highly recommend staying here.

My husband and I stayed here in September and it was fantastic. The apartment is so clean and comfortable, very chic lots of room and amenities. The location is perfect right in the heart of the historic sites of York everything is right outside your door. In fact there is a spectacular view of York Minster right outside the flat's living room window. I would highly recommend this holiday suite for a short or long term stay to anyone.

We had the most wonderful weekend in this apartment. The accommodation had everything and more that you would need on a holiday. It has been well thought out and is decorated to a high standard. It is so central yet so quiet once you are in the apartment. The view of the Minster from the balcony is lovely.
