“Perfect place to stay for visit to York”

Reviewed 7 Mar 2017

Really great location right by the Racecourse - with easy access into the city by bus from the end of the road. The cottage is really lovely - so comfortable and well equipped. The welcome hamper was a lovely touch. We would definitely stay again.

Owner's reply: Thank you ! Glad to hear you had a good stay and hope to welcome you back again.

“Fantastic”

Everything and more you could want. Beautiful equipped cottage. Jane, the owner, met us and made sure we were settled in. It is a bus ride away from the centre of York, but the bus stop is at the top of the road. Great restaurants 2 minutes walk away. Would highly recommend this cottage.

Owner's reply: Thank you Lesley. I hope to welcome toy back soon.

“The personal touch”

Reviewed 6 Dec 2015

Lovely cottage in quiet location. Small, but everything on hand. Jane goes out of her way to provide extra bits and pieces like homemade marmalade, and even a cake for my friend who was celebrating her 40th birthday. We walked into town once, but it is a fair way. Having said that there are numerous buses available from Tadcaster Road, 5 minutes walk away. We will return if only to sample Jane's marmalade, and see the Mayfield Pond in daylight, without the wind and rain. Perfect base to explore York and it's surroundings. Castle Howard beautiful, even in storm Desmond!
