The Yorkshire region
Yorkshire is big and beautiful country. It reaches into no less than three National Parks - the Yorkshire Dales, North York Moors and the Peak District. It also includes the majestic moorland of Bronte Country and the tranquil beauty of the Howardian Hills and the Yorkshire Wolds. Our spectacular coastline is among the finest in Britain, much of it protected as Heritage Coast.
Wander the streets of ancient York. Cruise a trans-Pennine canal. Ride the legendary Settle-Carlisle Railway and cross the mighty Humber on the world's longest single span suspension bridge. Even follow in the footsteps of Captain Cook and Dracula.
Go down a real coal mine. Or ride a time car back to the world of the Vikings. Read the television news in the National Museum of Photography, Film and Television. Nosedive down the world's largest roller coaster. Explore the world's oceans at The Deep. Make scientific discoveries at Magna.
Shop in one of Europe's largest malls. Sample northern ale straight from the brewery. Tuck into Yorkshire pudding and the world's most famous fish and chips. Take to the hills on Britain's toughest long-distance footpath. Or take to the turf at one of our premier courses.
It's no surprise that Yorkshire is proud of its past and a sense of history is never far away. Castles, abbeys and stately homes weave their rich and evocative story and in contrast, our powerful industrial heritage is vividly created in some of Britain's most exciting museums.
Find out what makes Yorkshire the nation's film and TV set. From 'Brideshead Revisited' to TV favourites like 'Emmerdale', 'Heartbeat', 'Last of the Summer Wine' and 'All Creatures Great and Small'.
Heritage and countryside, leisure and sport, great times out and family fun. Something different every day in Yorkshire.
The apartments are both situated within a 10 minute walk from the centre of the city of York with its many award-winning attractions, events, shops, resturants and history oozing from the buildings and streets: The Minister, The Shambles, Clifford Tower, The Jorvic Centre, The National Railway Museum, The City Sight Tour, The River Tour, The Viking festival, Music festivals, the Christmas Markets, The Race Meetings ...to name a few!
York is host to a great variety of shops and restaurants from the unique and unusual 'tucked' away ones to the familiar high street names. For all your self-catering needs two supermarkets are 5 minutes away and there is a large Marks and Spencers close by. There are a number of shopping centres around York, including a great designer outlet village to pick up a bargain!
York's entertainment caters for all and including everything expected of a thriving city - Theatres, Cinemas, Swimming Pools, Parks, Children's Soft Play areas , even a go kart track!

Well located and well set up flat - excellent base to explore York centre or beyond. Everything you need is provided and the meet and greet smooth and helpful. I would come again and also recommend!

"Great location and perfect sized weekend apartment"
The Tannery Apartment was just perfect for a weekend away with friends. It was just a 10 minute leisurely stroll into town past some lovely bars and interesting shops. The fact that parking was included with the stay was perfect. We were met at the apartment by Sue who was very friendly and welcoming and who showed us where everything was and even provided milk for our first cups of tea. The layout was great, with the bedrooms upstairs and a powerful shower and bath downstairs. The kitchen was fully equipped and there was plenty of extra bedding if needed, and the wifi was included. For a small group of friends, booking the apartment worked out much better than staying in a hotel and I would certainly recommend it!

"Excellent location for accessing city sights"
I would highly recommend this apartment in York. All communication with the owners and their staff was clear and made me feel confident that everything would be as described and it was. It was a stone's throw away from the centre of town, shops and restaurants. The apartment is well furnished and clean. It had everything you would need for a self catering holiday including a dishwasher and washing machine. I would definitely stay there again.

"Fantastic flat in York England"
We've stayed at the Tannery 3 times now. We really enjoy how close it is to the city center and it is also close to my family. Not much more expensive than a hotel with all the room you could want. Plus you end up saving money overall with it having kitchen facilities. We hope to be able to continue staying at the Tannery every year when we come to york

"Great apartment just outside the city walls"
The Tannery is a terrific apartment ideally located for visiting the beautiful City of York, being situated just outside the city walls. We found the apartment to be well-equipped and comfortable. We were met upon arrival and shown how to access the gated car park as well as the apartment building and the apartment itself. There was plenty of up to date information available about things to see and do whilst in York. Julienne and Steve were very helpful when booking the apartment, promptly answering emails and being flexible about arrival times, and the directions they gave made finding the apartment straight-forward. The Rose and Crown pub - situated opposite, is definitely worth a visit and we can recommend the Sunday Roast!

"Apartment with lots of character & Great service & Excellent location"
Great for visiting York and Yorkshire. Excellent meet & greet and housekeeping service. Apartment is furnished to very high standard and very tasteful! We felt at home immediately! Great location for exploring York and Yorkshire. Big plus is the efficient and super friendly housekeeper who was a big help. Great car parking facilities and very secure building with lots of character and views of the city walls. Unfortunately the lift did not reach right up to the second floor-the location of our apartment- and is was out of order most of the time. This was an issue only because we were travelling with a newborn baby.

"For Horse Racing & The City - its well situated"
The apartment was well situated to York racecourse which was the primary reason for going. It easily accomodated three adults and was near to a number of good pubs and reasonable restaurants. There are also nearby supermarkets, York Minster is only twenty minutes away, but it felt comfortable to be near the city but located outside of the York Walls. The apartment was clean, functional and suited our needs and is highly recommended as are the bacon rolls from the nearby cafe
