“Fabulous location”

Reviewed 19 May 2017

A really modern apartment in a great location opposite part of the city wall. Everything there is excellent except for the bed. It is a double & clapped out & from comments in the visitors book it has been for some time. Impossible for 2 people to sleep in together. Luckily the sofa is wide!

Fantastic location. We could walk to the centre within 10 minutes. The city wall is just across the road with a Sainsburys next door. The flat is immaculate with lovely decor and furniture. There was a bottle of milk left for us as well as some mince pies which I thought was a lovely touch. Tea, coffee, sugar, cooking oil and other bits you may have forgotten are all supplied. We thoroughly enjoyed our time in York and would definitely stay here again. It was nice to find an apartment that allowed infants as we were travelling with our one year old son. The flat was perfect as it is ground floor so no need to carry prams etc up stairs. There was enough room for the travel cot in the bedroom and we could relax in the separate lounge/diner.

“Beautiful apartment short walk into city centre”

Reviewed 4 Jun 2014

Really enjoyed our two night stay in Maurice's court apartments. Not far from all the sights of york. Would highly recommend to anyone who is looking for that little bit extra in luxury and comfort. Could not have asked for more from the very welcoming Betty's famous cheese scones on arrival to coffee, tea, milk and sugar etc in the cupboards to the ice in the freezer nice touch Sarah! Thank you once again very enjoyable weekend.

“Perfect apartment for city break”

Reviewed 9 Mar 2014

This apartment is fantastic. The location is just outside the city walls and an easy walk to the centre of town and the Minster. There is a Sainsbury's next door and plenty of cafes/restaurants nearby. The apartment was spotless, looked exactly like the photos and there were fresh scones waiting - a lovely touch. The food and activity recommendations were very helpful too. I would definitely stay there again if I go back to York.

“Absolutely fantastic”

I thought the apartment was well catered for us on our stay and has everything you may need and more. Excellent location with regards to access to shops, restaurants and bars, easy to find and no need to use a car unless travelling out of York centre. Would highly recommend this apartment to anybody looking at staying in York.

“A gem of a property in a fantastic location!”

Reviewed 7 Oct 2013

We have just returned from a brilliant weekend in York. We were greeted by the owner, Sarah, at the apartment, she was very helpful with recommendations of things to do whilst in the city. The property itself was a little haven of luxury, with lovely furnishings and everything you could need for a break away. And the position of the apartment is great, 2 minutes to the Minster and surrounding shops and restaurants. We will definitely be returning next year for our annual trip to York. I am looking forward to it already!!

“Wonderful apartment a stone's throw from the city centre in a quiet and convenient location.”

Reviewed 14 Aug 2013

This was a really fantastic apartment. It's maintained to a very high standard and had all the essentials we needed for a comfortable and relaxing week away. It's perfectly located for lazy lie ins in a residential apartment building, yet only a couple of minutes walk from restaurants, shops, the minster etc. It couldn't have been better really, and Sarah the owner is very friendly and helpful! I definitely recommend paying for the parking permit if you're driving as it saved us a FORTUNE in parking. Having Sainsbury's less than a minute's walk away was very convenient as well! It's a ground floor flat as well which meant no lugging suitcases up flights of stairs - a real bonus given that I was 5 months pregnant when we went! All round the perfect place to spend time while exploring the beautiful city of York. The only downside was that my husband is quite tall and struggled a little bit with the double bed as it's shorter than our King size.

“Great location for exploring the city”

Reviewed 9 May 2013

Stayed for two nights at St Maurice Court with our nine month old daughter. Apartment was really nicely presented, spotlessly clean with all the amenities you need and some really nice practical touches such as tea, coffee and dishwasher tablets. Sarah met us personally on arrival and even helped us unload the car which was fantastic! Great location for exploring York, the Minster is literally 5 mins walk and a massive range of shops, pubs and places to eat. Only downside was the heating which we struggled to manage, turned the lounge into a bit of a sauna.

Owner's reply: Thank you so much for sharing your experience of staying at St Maurice's Court. I'm so pleased you had a great stay and that the weather was wonderfully warm and the heating not needed. The heater in the lounge just needed switching off, as you did, but unfortunately it does take a few hours to cool down as it's storage heating. The heating has all been adjusted now that the warmer weather has finally arrived in Yorkshire! We hope to see you again on your next visit to York.

“Absolutely Excellent”

Reviewed 5 May 2013

We spent a couple of days at this excellent apartment. It is ideal for a couple wanting to visit York and the surrounding area. It is very new and modern, spotlessly clean and very, very comfortable. Sarah has fitted out, decorated and furnished the place very well and everything needed is available. We only ate breakfast in the apartment during our stay but could have eaten in without any problem. The apartment is perfectly situated being only 2 minutes walk from Monkbar and a few minutes further to lots of restaurants, cafes, pubs, shops and the sights of York. The Minster is a leisurely 5 minutes stroll away. Sarah was very friendly and helpful and she really has a wonderful place to stay in. We particularly liked the place settings on the dining table -a nice touch. It was a fantastic base for our short stay in York and we would certainly stay there again and have recommended it to our friends. Quite honestly it could not be faulted !!

“Exceptional Apartment, Exceptional Host”

Reviewed 12 Mar 2013

Can't fault this lovely apartment. Close to the Minster. Easy to get into the town and beautifully appointed. You want for nothing. Good eateries nearby or if you want to self-cater there are supermarkets within easy reach. Sarah is your perfect host: very easy to communicate with, happy to help with local information and a phone call away if you need to ask her something. All in all, I loved my stay here and would make this apartment my first choice when I return to York.
