“Fabulous location, great house”

Reviewed 19 Jul 2013

We couldn't have been happier. The house was beautiful and contained everything as advertised and was a wonderful home-away-from-home. The view of the minster from the top two bedrooms' patio and the sounds of the bells was a special treat. The house was perfectly located, 2 minutes from the minster and 1 minute from Betty's...Everything was within walking distance. The house wasdown a locked off "ginnel" - almost like a scene from Harry Potter, we were in a different world once we passed through the door..quiet and relaxing. As for York, what a wonderful city to explore with kids - so much history and so much to do. I would absolutely stay at this house again !!

Glad you had a great time - thanks for taking the time to write the review. Hope to see you again. Margaret & Nigel

“Fantastic family acoomodation in an ideal York location”

Reviewed 21 Sep 2012

Blake mews is a super location. It over looks the Minster, is centrally located and yet it is also secluded and private. You could easily walk straight past the entrance - almost like Harry Potter! We've stayed there with our 3 boys on a number of occastions and loved it. The facilities are great as are the proportions and standard of decoration. I have no hesitation in recommending it for couples or families.

“York is a great city and our accommodations were fantastic”

Reviewed 10 Sep 2012

York is a great city and the historic walled city remains. The accommodations were in the heart of the old walled city, a modern updated townhouse on a historic mew. About a block or block and half away is a historic cathedral that is the largest in northern England and was completed around 1400 after 200 years of work. We went there every evening for evening song at 5 pm. The songs were sung by a boys and girls choir and took about 40 minutes - a great way to end the day. The location is great to see the historic city, walk the walled city, etc.. Numerous very good restaurants are within a 5 minute walk. The surrounding country side is fantastic, and the highlight, in our opinion, was Castle Howard where Brideshead Revisited was filmed.

“Relax in York”

Reviewed 9 Sep 2012

Modern, stylish townhouse, perfectly located in the centre of York but in a quiet location with the added bonus of a parking space and great views of the Rose Window at York Minster. We were able to wind down in this home from home which has plenty of space and well equipped kitchen and bathrooms. The key arrangements and handy detailed written instructions made for hassle-free visits. Have stayed there twice and with Betty’s Tea Room just a 3 minute walk away, will definitely stay again!!
