“Comfortable accommodation, very convenient location”

Reviewed 4 Apr 2013

My wife and I stayed over a long weekend for our first visit to York and were extremely pleased with the apartment. It was clean, comfortable and warm - important given the weather at the time! Kitted out with a stocked fridge and sweet goodies for walks (not much left at the end of our stay!). We had a small problem with wi-fi signal, but Sheena couldn't have been more helpful and sorted us out. York was well worth the trip with much to see and do. We had planned to tour some of the surrounding countryside, but between the City attractions and the cosy apartment, we didn't venture far. A good excuse for a return visit!

Thank you very much for your review. Really glad to hear you enjoyed your stay so much. It was my pleasure to be able to assist with the WiFi connection. Happy to do same again any time you can make it back to York... and next visit we will make sure there are extra sweets for your coat pockets so you don't run out!

“wonderful”

Reviewed 13 Feb 2013

We had such a wonderful stay in York. The accommodation and welcome were amazing. Sheena the owner was so helpful and friendly. The apartment had everything you could possibly need and more. There were a number of goodies and basics in the fridge and cupboards.. I especially liked the bottle of fizz and chocolate biscuits : ) I can not recommend this place enough. It is absolutely perfect for couples who want to enjoy the sites and sounds of the city but want a quiet comfortable retreat to go back to at the end of the day. Thank you to Sheena for making us feel so welcome. We loved playing house at the Emperor's Wharf apartment and are already saving up to return x

Thanks so much for the wonderful review. Makes my day to read you want to come back. I especially enjoyed your description of 'playing house' and will look forward to seeing you again! I enjoyed meeting you both too...

“A must stay, stay!”

Reviewed 24 Sep 2012

The flat was absolutely lovely. Exceptionally clean with a stocked pantry and perfectly located. It was a few minutes walk into the hib of the town with a friendly local across the road. It had all the amenities of a washing machine, microwave, iron and everything you needed for it to me a home from home. The best bit was the very warm welcome you received from Sheena, the Northern lass landlady who really did go that extra mile to make you feel at home. It was my birthday and she even provided some fizz and cake. I would thoroughly recommend Emperor's Wharf to anyone staying in York.

It was great to meet you and I really enjoyed hosting your birthday stay! Thanks very much for your review and I also appreciated your personal thanks at the time. Look forward to seeing you anytime you can get back here again...

“Wonderful place to stay”

Reviewed 7 Sep 2012

This apartment has everything you need and more. It is right in the centre so near to the shops and bars but is not noisy. Having a parking space was great and right under the apartment so easy to unload the car. The place is very cosy and Sheena made us feel very welcome from the start. The fridge was well stocked, we even got a bottle of cava as it was my husbands birthday. Sheena was lovely and really looked after us. We would definitely stay here again if we came to York.

It was my pleasure to look after you and I really appreciate your review! Glad you want to come back so look forward to seeing you again the next time you can make it to York...

“beautifully appointed accommodation in prime location”

Reviewed 24 Aug 2012

Located on the waterfront, this spacious flat is within easy walking distance to York city center, shops and tourist attractions.Spotlessly clean, and tastefully furnished, the accommodation is well appointed with a comfortable bed, spacious living room with tv ,comfy sofas, dining area,an open plan kitchen and large bathroom.I was very impressed by the attention to detail in the property, there were bottles of water and glasses in the bedroom, fresh lillies in the sitting room ,and in the kitchen there were eggs, croissants and butter in the fridge,as well as fresh bread ,ground coffee and the usual tea and coffee that one would expect.

So glad you enjoyed your stay!Hope to see you soon...

“Great retreat in the heart of beautiful York”

Reviewed 3 Aug 2012

This was a great place to stay. It's located on the west bank of the main river, within a very short walking distance to many of the sights and amenities of the city. At the same time it's on a relatively quiet street, so you don't have tons of tourists wandering past the flat all day and night. The flat itself is lovely, with a nice sitting area, a decent sized kitchen, and a very comfortable bed. Lots of storage so you can hang up your clothes and feel like a resident. The bed had sheets that felt too good for me, but I got used to them! The owners were friendly and quite accommodating (no pun intended), picking me up at the train station, providing a nice package of start-up food (eggs, bread, tea, chocolate biscuits (!), fruit, coffee, butter etc), and going out of their way to fix a tricky internet connection. So as far as I'm concerned, this is where I will stay again if fortune smiles on me and lets my work bring me back to York. Thank you for a wonderful retreat at the heart of York!

Thanks very much for the great review! Look forward to welcoming you to York again whenever you can make it...
