Location description from owner

The Yorkshire region

The North East coast is a closely guarded secret and many visitors who have not been before are visibly impressed by what they find. Steeped in history from fishing to ship building, iron ore mining, steel production and coal mining. We also boast a fair number of famous North Easterners such as Captain Cook, (excellent museum dedicated to him in Whitby), I will leave you to research them but to start you off - Sting, Chris Rea and Robert Palmer - to name but a few.

There are many walks and cycle tracks around our shores with some more challenging than others.

Central Whitby

Many of the extremely picturesque small towns and villages are built into the (quite often) steep cliff faces with magnificent views out to sea. Why not search of the pubs and restaurants that have taken advantage of this and have great views whilst you sample their fayre.

Whitby is sitated on the edge of the North Yorkshire Moors which is one of Englands most beautiful areas with stunning views across heather strewn hills and valleys. A trip on the North Yorks steam trains through the valleys is a must to appreciate the beauty of this area.

It is also ideally situated to explore more of the areas traditional coastal villages and towns.

“Lovely cosy appartment”

Reviewed 3 Sep 2016

This is a lovely compact apartment which is well kitted out with utensils and basic needs - thank you for supplying washing up liquid, soap, tea towel, toilet roll etc - really great especially when travelling via public transport. A chopping board and small knife would be a great addition! I was slightly disheartened when we came through front door - the hallway just feels a bit a drab but the apartment has obviously been done up well. Stairs are fine and not a chore at all. My only negative about the apartment, and I know other people have mentioned it, is the sitting arrangements. The sofa just gets by but the chaise lounge is just so uncomfortable and as someone else has mentioned - we also sat on the floor! After a busy day and about some cosy comfortable seating is what is needed. Owner is very helpful and responds to emails very promptly. A very good stay. One point for dog owners and this is just for information and nothing to do with owners or apartments....the early morning/last walk at night for your dog....there are no bins at all on Prospect Hill so if there is a poop bag moment you either have to walk right down to the centre of town or keep it in the apartment until you go down when you want to!! Lots of dog friendly places in Whitby - many more than pop up in a web search.
